| I never wanted to give up a day skiing to try snowboarding..I don't like how snowboarders face sideways which makes for a huge blind spot and snowboards suck for flat or uphill traverses..In deep powder and choppy spring crud..they look awesome. For riding chairlifts they look uncomfortable. I do like tooling around a longboard sometimes..going down gradual hills and carving..toeside turns are way way way easier than healside turns. |

| Snowboarders ruin groomed slopes and moguls, they look ridiculous trudging across flat terrain and sitting on their butts all the time, they are always out of control and running into skiers and they think they're much cooler than they really are. Plus, there's no cool smiley with a snowboarder..... There. I said it. Had to be done. Next topic please. This thread can be locked. |

| One thing that seems cool about snowboarding is that I never hear snowboarders bitching about perfecting their stance, technique and all that crap... they just do it. Skiers seem to spend too much time talking technique and perfecting it. Don't get me wrong, there's some technique stuff that has been great for my skiing, I'm just saying the attitude seems more laid back for snowboarders. I personally think it would probably be a blast to hit deep pow on a board... but most stuff I do and enjoy involves mountain travel... and snowboards just suck at that.
