Loon Mountain - 3/14/2005

Date(s) Skied: Monday, March 14, 2005, 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Resort or Ski Area: Loon Mountain, Licoln, New Hampshire

Conditions: Packed powder, a little icey as expected at some merges. Mostly cloudy, cool, some wind early

Trip Report: We got started a bit late, but got started on the Seven Brothers chair. Took that to the new North Peak Quad - nice lift! Next run was down Flume. The upper portion was in fine shape - probably the best I've seen it. Next run was down Walking Boss. Again, great shape. We then headed over to ride the Kanc Quad for a while and skied a few runs down Rumrunner which had some great bumps. A little sloppy the first run, but we started to get to pick it up a notch after that. We took a run through the intermediate glades (Scaler). A little scraped, but very skiable.

Next run was Angel Street (sweet packed powder) and then three back to back runs down Triple Trouble. TT was the best I've ever seen it. Sweet soft natural bumps the whole way down. We got 3 1/2 hours in before we sent the girls out to ski the afternoon. Great day! Gonna meet up with Charlie tomorrow.

Pics to follow...

Life's too short for warm up runs.

Great Greg. I was going to tell you about Tripple trouble's status, but thought you would enjoy seeing it for yourself. Can't wait for the pictures.

The pics look awesome! I wish I were up there, or at any ski area instead of being stuck here at work...
