Also - The Wildcat Inn right on 16A in "downtown" Jackson is a classic apres-ski place....

Jackson is great - even better in August....

...1st time @Mt. Washington Valley.......

....and if you haven't yet, take a part of one day to check out a part of the Presidential Range....Mt. Washington...etc...up on Rte. #16. The Pinkham Notch AMC center is where a few trails start out...and some are a few miles northward...Tuckerman & Hillman Ravines, Great Gulf/Gulf of Slides...etc. is such a great range of "natural" terrain.

You folks are awesome...

Thanks for all the good tips on places to go.
One thing for sure, there will be no Horsefeathers for me!

Looks like I'll be skiing (probable order but subject to change):
Wildcat
Attitash
Sunday River
Bretton Woods

Trip report and pics to follow.

Looks like a good plan, except if your a good skier im not sure u should ski bretton woods, never been there but driving by it looks totally flat. Wildcat is awsome, only skied attish once, thought it was kinda easy. Only skied sunday river once, cant remember much though because it was so long ago, looks like an awsome mountain though. I would also try cannon, it is a little further but worth it.

Thanks, I appreciate the insight. I have a $12 lift pass for BW and compared to my local ski areas (Pocono Mtn's in PA)
it can't be "that" flat...
I'd consider myself a solid intermediate, not yet a "good skier" and just want to check out as much terrain up that way as possible.
Probably gonna return to NH/ME again in 2 weeks if conditions hold.

Another thing in case you were wonderin....that ain't me in the picture.
Just a person I know and have learned from.
(and arguably one of the best skiers on the planet)

Doubt if I'll ever get that good with such a late start in my ski career.

then if your an intermidiate bretton woods would probably be awsome, they have some of the best grooming in NE.... and for $12 you should deffiantly go... oh ya and the next day at wildcat is always $25 awsome deal

Jackson was a great homebase for my 4 day trip...

Thanks for all the advice folks...
Jackson NH ended up being a perfect central location for skiing Wildcat, Attitash, SR and BW.
Headed straight back to the airport at Manchester from BW, piece of cake. Works out perfect for an 8:20pm flight. Definitely be doing something similar in the future.

Ended up dining the first night in the Eagle Mtn House tavern (where I stayed) and it was pretty cool/mellow with great food. If you go there, gotta try out the Black Bear Chicken.
Went out later that night to the Shannon Door Pub for a wee bit o Guinness (it was Saint Pat's) and I am Irish....

Next night dined with some local folks I met and checked out the Red Fox, pretty decent place.

Next night at Moat Mountain Smokehouse/Brewery, excellent!
After that slid on over to the Red Parka for some late night beers and a band. Lotsa fun was had by this guy!
