Loon Mountain - 3/15/2005

Date(s) Skied: Tuesday, March 15, 2005 - 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM

Resort or Ski Area: Loon Mountain, Lincoln, New Hampshire

Conditions: Packed powder, some scrape, bumps. Mostly cloudy, cooler and windier than Monday.

Trip Report: Another great day at Loon. The snow didn't hold up quite as well as Monday due to what seemed like a larger crowd. Liftlines were still negligible. It was a pleasure for us to ski with Charlie and davea today.

We did a number of high speed runs all over the mountain today. Charlie also took us into a couple of new glades, including Mike's Way and a glade off Angel Street (I forget the name). I'm not a big tree skier, but it certainly was a fun challenge.

Best run today was again Triple Trouble. The snow has really held up nicely and the bumps seemed a bit larger today. Still a great run and we finished up on it three times again today. Off to Cannon tomorrow. Pics are here.

Life's too short for warm up runs.

The Glades we skied were Mike's Way off of Upper Flying Fox, Skidder off of Angel Street and Buck Saw off of Haul Back between Flume and Walking Boss. I believe Bucksaw was in the best condition with Skidder next and Mike's way following up.

However, hands down Triple-Trouble was the best trail of the day.
