| Ski reports - Loon & Bretton Woods 3/2 - 3/5 Dates skied: 3/2 Loon, 3/3 Bretton Woods, 3/5 Loon Conditions: 3/2 Loon - SO SO COLD! SNow was great, packed powder/frozen granular in places but generally very good cverage and great skiing conditions 3/3 Bretton Woods - pretty close to perfect, lots of natural snow, packed powder, Bretton Woods excel at grooming. 3/5 Loon - snowing quite heavily with relatively wet snow. Around midday the conditions were quite good, lots of fresh snow (but I wouldn't call it 'powder'), quite wet heavy snow. Conditions worsened as the day continued, certain areas were skied off - quite icy, others were really bumpy. Great trip - Bretton Woods was perfect, nice temperatue (the day before at Loon we all had to buy masks), packed groomed powder with areas of fresh ungroomed snow. Skied the whole mountain (excepting the black runs with trees!), really quiet lift lines. Loon is a bit more challenging and it was so cold on Monday! Let me know if you wnat more specific details. |
