Are the Rossi Scratch skis any good?

I know I should have asked this question before I bought a pair, but it was an offer I couldn't refuse. About a week ago I picked up a pair of Rossignol Scratch (not FS - just plain blue color Scratch) skis from last year for $150. I mounted then up with old axial 140 bindings.

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with these skis and could comment on their ability to hold edge on hard snow, high speed stability and bumps. Thank you.

Have seen a lot of bump skiing/glade folks on this ski. I have no other experience with it though...bit too soft for me.

These are great skis!
I believe these are the skis (see link below)
http://www.sportsgearguide.com/pictu...nol_ski_20.jpg

They are 110/80/113 midfats with a wide turning radius. About 23m at 180cm's length. They are fantastic in the crud, and will float in the powder. Good northeast ski. And with the twin tips you can get squirrly with them. The Axial 140's are a fantasic binding. Up to DIN 14 I believe. They are actually LOOK bindings, owned by Rossi.

If the Scratch's aren't chewed up on the bottoms (as new schoolers tend to do in the terrain parks) then $150 is a great price. You could use these in any condition, all winter. GOOD DEAL!

I got two pair of skis from Cupolo Sports in Canada and got a good deal and good customer service. They're no longer on EBAY but their website is up and running and they email me with deals all the time. What is so bad about them?

Hmmm...I got a pair of skis from Cupolo's off of Ebay last year and had a very good experience. Got the skis, brand new and still in the wrapper. Didn't wait long, good customer service too. I read their reviews on Ebay and 99% were positive.

Yeah, when I bought two pair from them in 2003 they had a near perfect feedback rating. My experience with them was flawless. Go figure. I read those other posts that linked in the above responses. Yikes! We must have got our purchases in before they tanked it. Sounds like they fired some key people thinking they could run the place without them. Go figure.

Great to hear that the skis are good!

I was a bit concerned because the only reviews I found on these skis were for Scratch FS, not Scratch. The FS seems like a great skis, but I read that the FS has another layer of lamination or something to make it more durable. Then I started worrying that the extra layer might make the FS stiffer than the regular Scratch, which would make the skis I got a bit noodly. Hopefully that is not the case.

It is good to hear that the Scratch makes a good bump ski because that is an area in my skill set that I was planning on working on this year. I primary want the Scratch skis for bumps, airs/tricks and switch skiing.

I have a pair of K2 Public Enemy skis that are more versatilite, stiffer and pretty smooth at hish speed.

If you're looking to improve your bump skiing you may want to check out the book titled "Everything the Instructors Never Told You About Mogul Skiing" by Dan DiPiro. We have a thread about it here. Its well worth the $11 IMHO.
