Sunday River 12/17 & 12/18

Here is my trail report for this weekend:

12/17/05 -On the Barker lift at 8. Cruised Barker trails which had nice corduroy. Lots of powder on the sides on trails as they received 10” of light powder (well for the east coast) on Friday. T2 was great after a little ski through the woods. Trail of the day was Obsession, which had big whales from snowmaking all week and 10” of snow on top of that. A close second place was Upper Downdraft with nice soft bumps on skier’s left.
Snow was being made on 3D, White Heat, Halfpipe, and Cyclone. Lots of people at Barker due to a FIS slalom race, but not many people on the rest of the slopes.

12/18/05-On the Barker lift at 8. Most trails were groomed and had nice corduroy. Trail of the day was Northern Lights with Dreammaker second. Left around 11:45 when trails got a little scratchy and had little bumps that could not be seen due to the flat light.
Snow was being made on 3D, White Heat, Lollipoploser, and Cyclone. Lots of people at Barker due to a FIS slalom race, but not many people on the rest of the slopes.

You should have held out til 2 PM. 4/5 of the people left after the races were over. You could have had some uncrowded skiing.

I prefer Shock Wave to White Heat. I'm not a Jordan bowl fan. nothing wrong, just not a favorite. Aurora is it.
