Sunday River, 12/21

Date(s) Skied: Wed 12/21/05, 9:00a to 2:00p

Resort or Ski Area: Sunday River

Conditions: Groomed PP, some powder, hardpack. In the 20s with partial sun and minimal wind.

Trip Report:
Got there around 8:50 and grabbed the Barker chair for some fresh cordouroy. It was cold and the conditions were a bit stiff. Made my way over to lift 6 and found Escapade to be in sweet shape. Dreammaker was the preferred run, hardly a soul on it, and perfect conditions for practicing my carve. After lunch they opened 3D, which had been under the guns since the weekend. Huge concrete whales and bizzare ripples had me looking for an exit on the 1st run. I found an out halfway down that led to the trail under lift 6, they had dropped rope to allow access to some of the powder leftover from the weekend. It had been poached but there were still moments of glee to be had. To sum up; there is little skiable evidence of the 10" they got last weekend, but overall in great shape and once again the SR grooming and snowmaking crew have pulled it off without a lot of help from Mother Nature.

Welcome.
The River's snow making and grooming are the best IMO.
If your there often... we have quite a few regulars that go. Let the gang know.
Many of the Sr board members mingle together with us as a group and vice versa. Nice report.. well written.
