Please consider spending on boots first, even if you have to rent the skis for awhile longer... a properly fitted boot will make *any* ski perform so much better! If you just can't stand the thought of the rental line any longer and must have skis, take a knowledgeable friend to one of the local ski swaps and try and pick up a 2-3 year old model on the cheap. I know from past experience that it's hard to take a flyer on eBay when your resources are limited, but that is another option.

As for your specific list, my wife has the Atomic ETL and has been pleased with them... stable for such an easy-turning ski. So the E3 in 150cm might be an option for you. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I plan to stop by the ski store again before making any purchases online to check to see what they have in stock and what they recommend. And, I will check out boots before I buy any skis. I definitely plan on trying on boots that I buy. In terms of the options I found online for skis, would the dynastar omedrive or the atomic e3 be good for a beginner? Or are they better for someone who knows what they are doing? Are both reputable brands?

Those of you from New England (or NH or ME specifically), which resorts do you like best? I've been to Sunday River and Gunstock locally (very limited greens).
Thanks everyone!!!
