depending on the weather... MAYBE cannon wednesday for their first day of summit operation which has huge potential for untouched lines on mittersill (well, mostly... i'm sure people have hiked them already). also depending on how bad the rain event is... MAYBE sugarbush on xmas for $5.50.

thursday, friday, saturday, and sunday are completely up in the air depending on how the weather and snow looks... but i'll probably end up at either cannon, magic, or burke.

What's the deal with Haystack? Last I heard was that they only run on weekends now...[/quote]

Haystack is run weekends and holiday weeks. It is currently open (mon dec 22). In general terms you can find great snow, no lift lines (even during holidays). Although they have no high speed lifts the rides are relatively short, 11 min Barnstormer, 8 min Hayseed and 6 min witches throw in a great selection of trails, no lines and you have a great place to ski. The two drawbacks are for our boarder fiends is that there is a flat spot in the middle of the hill ie rt 100 south and for all of us the upper base lodge is too small especially when they have a race going on.

Thanks tree_skier. I used to ski Haystack a lot back in college. I was just wondering what their schedule was.

After Christmas Plans

I'm going to try to get up to Burke, where the lines might be a little shorter, between Xmas and New Years.

>>> ... there won't even be any lines! check it out! <<<

Okay, I'm there! You convinced me!!

Now it's just a matter of logistics. Do I stay at the Comfort Inn and split the cost of a room with a buddy, or do the day trip and blast up 91? Either way, I'm there at least once, maybe more.

Okay, I'll now ask the frivolous typlical question I ask about all hotel stays, "do you have high speed internet?" LOL!

Looks like we're doing Killington on the 3rd. Hoping the majority of the holiday crowd is gone by then...

Rain and xmas/eve plans have nixed sugarbush Christmass for me..

Fri-Sun hoping to do two days; maybe JimPeak, Okemo.

Thinking about hunter or catamount instead of Okemo though, already slated for Okemo on Jan11th.

User feedback/2cents for okemo vs catamount vs hunter for a 2nd CT-proximal skiday this holiday weekend?
