MY SOUL-MATE!
If you knew him better you'd want to reconsider that statement.

College Cooking II

I couldn't find my origenal thread, nor could i find the recent cooking thread that popped up, but I just whipped up two great recipies.

You should definately note that I have some interesting tastes. Its very likely you wont like these...especially the first one.

Beer Chops (slightly altered recipie that I found)

You need 2 Tbsp butter
2 Pork Chops, 1 inch thick
1 tspn of thyme
4oz mushrooms
1 otter creek pale ale
frozen sliced carrots
1/2 bag of egg noodles
flour

1. Melt 1 tbsp butter in medium skillet
1a. Lightly Flour Pork Chops
2. Brown both sides of the pork chops till they are almost completely cooked on inside
2a. Slice mushrooms while you wait
3. Remove pork chops and add mushrooms and .5tspn of thyme, saute 1 min on med-high
4.Add pork chops back in and add 2/3 of the beer (drink the rest if you want)
5. Cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes

Sides
Cook carrots as directed, season with a little butter and thyme
Cook eggnoodles as directed

Serve:
Put pork chops on eggnoodles, carrots on side, pour beer/mushroom sauce over whole plate

Very good, especially if you like the flavor (not alcohol content) of beer. Interesting flavor.

Smothered Fliet Mignon

2 6 Oz Omaha Steak beef tenderloins (thats what I used)
2 Omaha Steak Stuffed Baked Potatoes
Some Vermont Sharp Cheddar
4 oz mushrooms
1 med onion
thyme
french cut string beans

1. Cook potatoes as directed (takes a long time, so go relax for like 10 min)
2. Cut up onion and saute with a little oil, add sliced mushrooms after onions start to really cook
3. Throw filets on foreman grill (or whatever) and cook to desired temp. ( i like med-rare).
4. Remove onions/mushrooms when onions are browned
5. Put onions/mushrooms on steaks (save some)
6. Put sliced cheese on top of steak etc. thinly cover as much as you can.
7. Keep warm while potato is still cooking.
8. Remove potato and set aside on a plate and place steaks on same baking sheet at 350.
9. Cook steaks for like 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

String beans duh, read the package. Butter, thyme and garlic salt for flavor.

Optional: add bacon to steak ...put the bacon on before the cheese. Make sure you cook it well so that it breaks up easyly as you cut the steak.

I just invented this one tonight. My stomach is very happy right now.

I found your original thread and added this post to it.

Interesting concoctions. I don't think I would eat either, probably because I don't eat mushrooms...
