AlpineMail.com will be disabled

We regret to announce that as of November 1, 2001, AlpineMail.com will be no longer offered. This has been a very difficult decision, but made due to a recent offering from Everyone.net, our Email service provider. Everyone.net has taken it upon themselves to offer its subscribers the opportunity to subscribe to their 'Mail Plus' program.

'Mail Plus' is a fee-based service, where for $19.99/year, Everyone.net (and thus AlpineMail.com) users can receive ad-free Web-based Email. We disagree with Everyone.net making this offer without getting permission from its domain owners. Since 'Mail Plus' is being offered to our users without our approval, we have reluctantly made the decision to disable AlpineMail.com entirely.

Those turkeys! Very unethical of them, oh well - you are doing the right thing. Are other domain owners joining you in this?
