| Loon Mountain - 3/8/2006 Date(s) Skied: Wednesday, 3/8/2006 - 9:30 am - 12:30 pm Resort or Ski Area: Loon Mountain, Lincoln, New Hampshire Conditions: Groomed LGR, some scratchies. Sunny. Temps 25-30. NO wind. More crowded than yesterday Trip Report: Got a bit of a late start this morning. I was feeling somewhat sluggish after two back-to-back half days and really ripping it up with Steve yesterday. I had picked up today's lift ticket yesterday though so I was able to grab my gear, walk outside, click in and ski onto the gondola. First run was right down Angel Street which was in fine shape. I then took a run down Picked Rock and then Flying Fox. Fox was a little scratchy yesterday so I wanted to hit it early today. I spent most of today skiing Flume off the North Peak Quad. Skier's Left up top was fun and I made it a bit more challenging by jumping in between the woods and lift tower 3 or 4. It's only about 8 feet wide at that point so it added some spice. The LGR today was again sweet and deep. There was also a nice hit that formed along one of the towers on Lower Flume. I was able to pull a few jumps there. The bumps lower down were marginally better than yesterday so I cruise them a few times. Walking Boss (skier's left) was much like yesterday with deep LGR to snap some turns in. Today was much more crowded than yesterday, but the singles line wasn't too bad. Didn't meet up with Charlie today as I think he hurt his back. Will need to check in with him about that. Took my final run of the trip up the gondi (no wait - singles line!) and cranked a great final run down Angel Street. The run was better yesterday, likely due to less traffic, but still nice today. The trail merge with Basin Streetabout half way down provides a great hit to fly off. Flume was better overall today though. Funny how things can change in one day... So...that's it for the trip. Had a great time and was happy to ski with Steve yesterday. Wish our friends could have made it up, but it provided for some quality time with the kids after skiing the mornings. Heading home tomorrow. Really soaked in the views during the final run today. All peaks were free of clouds including the Presidentials. Fun times. |

| They seem to do a brisk mid week business. My last pm's with Charlie were on Monday. I will touch base again.
