For 1600' of vert, the mountain feels like it skis much smaller than that. Maybe I've just been on the wrong days, but my 3 visits there have been "eh, a day of skiing is always better than a day at the office".

Jiminy Peak - ridiculously wide and boring trails, but I'm sure I'll have to come back due to their early openings and late closing.
Butternut - wicked flat (flatter than Flatton), crowded, and I find it to be boring. However, I'll likely be forced to come back due in the near future due to the fact that a number of my friends go there.
Mohawk - also wicked flat and boring, but being twenty minutes away, there really aren't other options. In the future, I'll likely buy a season pass at Catamount, but even then, I'll still be forced to go to Mohawk sometimes since it's the closest.

Mountain Creek - Overpriced, cheap on the snowmaking, it's a trek from the parking lot to the mountain, the Cabriolet gondola among quite a few other negatives.

But - it's only 10 minutes from the house so I'll go there at least once during the season, last year I had a free ticket, hopefully I'll have one this year.

Phil sniffs bait and swims away. Does having to be there for work purposes count?

I f'n Hate Jiminy . . .

But for some reason, I always seem to get a free lift ticket, and I hate to see a free ticket go to waste.

Okemo. Honestly, I just don't feel comfortable skiing that mountain, but with my Wachusett pass giving me 50% off at Okemo, it doesn't make sense not to go (although I will say that if Bromley continues their $25 mid-week lift ticket they had this past season, I will probably go there instead if I can convince my ski buddy to switch mountains).

The thing about Okemo is I just don't like their lift layout. I like Jackson Gore quite a lot, but you can't buy your lift tickets there on weekdays (you have to go to the main base) and my buddy and I are lazy and don't want to go to the main base first and then drive over to Gore (especially since we usually arrive after noontime so have limited time on the slopes anyway - it's a long drive up there and neither of us get up early in the morning).

But... 50% off is appealing, so Okemo will probably be on the hit-list again even though I'd rather hit Bromley or Killington (neither of which are that significantly further away).

Suggestion...go on a weekday, preferably when snowmaking is ongoing/happened recently.

In response to the topic: Killington-I hate the management, but the terrain/size/reasonable distance is too good for me to not continue going there.

Big Boulder...It's a small, park oriented hill but it's perfect for teaching the little one and inclded in my pass...plus it's the only option early and late season.

No such thing for me. The only place I would not go back to is Bear Creek( Mount Assboyle). It's great for boarders but has no hill for skiing.

The place does nothing for me, but between its proximity to my club's lodge, their generous distribution of mega-discount coupons, its having been chosen for the 2008 CSC Winter Carnival and the number of ASIA clinics held there, I ended up putting in at least 10-12 days there this season. With the cost of gas becoming a bigger factor it might be even more in 08/09. Still, sliding on snow is better than nothing.

Check on that again. Many's the weekday I've pulled into the JG lot, paid for the lifts and been on the mountain within a few minutes. So much easier and no hassles. I don't know if this is the case for late season but mid-winter, they're definitely open.
