Do you night ski?

Pats' will be a better mountain with Hurricane open at night. I had not night skied in well at least 15 years until last year. Alot of fun.

I night skied in Vermont for the first time on March 17th, 2006 at Bolton, and the runs where long, but not very challenging. I also skied at Stowe on March 18th in 3-4" of powder falling as we skied at night on Gondolier and Perry Merrill, which are REALLY long runs.

Besides that other places that I have been night skiing are:

I agree. This will throw Pats into a whole new market...before the intermediates and beginners were the target "night audience," but now, with Hurricane, a true Expert Run, as well as FIS, there is some serious stuff that will be open at night. Throw in some good bumps and we've got a winner.

last time i did any night riding was at Elk mtn PA they have two dimaonds lit-up, a couple intermediate crusers and two winding greeners on either side of the hill...one interesting thing was because the parking lot is a few hundred yards from the main base area there is an un-lit trail heading down to the parking lot...its was our "last run" for the evening as cruising down in the darkness to the parking lot on an trail that was last used when they shut down the rest of the mountain trail # 16 on the map cheers

oops i forgot my 1st outing was at Nashoba a couple of winters ago with TB and Chile. Hence the beginning of guys night out.

Can't call it just guys night know anymore.

Thaller 1 has a night race team at Shawnee this year. (Plug) She may need a few more night Racers. (She still is kind of one of the guys) shops a bit more than us though.

I have a few times, its a great option for people who work long hours. I like the fact it usually is only something smaller mtns can give you versus the larger ones who dominate this industry.

I go Tuesday nights at Jiminy chaperoning my schools ski club - I went to meet Sparky this year.

I also do chaperoning Thursday nites with my youngest sons school ski club at West. What a zoo that is, allegedly very crowded, but I get a kick out of seeing him having a great time on the snow with his school buds.

Some other places where I have gone:

Bolton Valley: I went in 2001 a few times. Good vert and great views of the Champlain Valley. Now it is much better with the new quad. They had one intermediate run, one expert run (and it was a good run), and some lower mountain runs.

Bretton Woods: I went probably in 1999 or so. It has not changed at all...still one easy trail and one lift. I'd like to see more...and I'd like to see them groom that run before nightskiing because it was BAD when we skied it.

Cranmore: Did a Twilight Session in 1994 or so. Had a great time. I only remember riding the East Bowl Double in the afternoon and hitting the frontside for the rest of the day. North Conway was fun. Now with the HSQ it must be fun. Glad they brought it back!

Lyndon Outing Club: Been there countless times. Natural snow, two trails, volunteer run, T-Bar. Good times.

Pats Peak: I really like night skiing here, did it several times. But I wish that they would groom their stuff before the night sessions. Now with Hurricane going as the expert run at night, it is going to be great. Cheap and fun on Saturday nights.

Nashoba: As said, small, but great vibe. You can see Boston. No lines and fun laps. Lots of great skiing side-to-side.

Blue Hills: Only one real night skiing trail, but it was cheap. Had a good night here in 2004. The chair ride was a dark one...

Wachusett: One night here in 2005. Good terrain variety and vert. Not bad with the crowds. Fast lifts and (usually) good snowmaking and grooming. The night I was there they "stopped" grooming the trails...so it got pretty nasty.

Hillend Dry Skiing: OK, exotic. I've night skied at this Scottish Dry Ski area. That is a real challenge and is fun.

I do want to try Shawnee Peak, Abram, Whaleback, and Bolton again.

What, no Jiminy Peak?

I'll be there tues. and thurs. nights teaching from 6:00 till whenever. Looking forward to meeting you. I'm also there training on wed. nights, depending on managements (wife) view.
