Wachusett is the only place I've night skied, but I think it is lit very well. The lights illuminate the surface very well and you can easily see whatever you're looking for... whether it's people, bumps, ice, etc. I was there for the 24 hour skiathon and that was a blast. Wachusett is the only place that you can stand in a liftline at 3 in the morning, then cruise down the slopes in sunrise. They are also open for night skiing on just about every day of the season, not weekends only like some other places. My only gripe is that they close at 10 on Fridays and Saturdays. They could easily keep a crowd in later than that.

The summit is very bright and the lighting on the rest of the mountain seems pretty good. Small mountain so the lights are probably easier to maintain. I've seen some bad lighting at Jiminy though...
Thats a nice pic, it's killing me also.

I had thick fog to contend with at Camelback on January 16th, which made for some interesting skiing especially when skiing large moguls on Rocket. At least it was not raining and the temperature was near 60F:

Yeeap, I night ski at Wachusett.

Convenient to shoot up there a couple nights a week after work. Except when school programs are in session. Then I'd rather play Russian roulette than be up there.

I do go night skiing--it's a great way to get out for a few runs after work, and the Thursday-night beer league I ski in is a lot of fun. I don't have clear goggles, though...I use a pair of Briko Zar goggles with their rose-ish "Thrama" lenses. Best flat-light performance I've ever seen, although they are a bit pricier than some goggles. And I will second the eeriness factor when in the fog or rain....I got in one evening last year where even the lift ride up was almost surreal because of the lack of traffic, exceedingly limited visibility, and diffusing of the light by the rain/fog.

Roughly 1/3 of my days out were night skiing at Sundown this season. There were a few weeks when I skied Wednesday nights and then again on Friday. The session on Wed. night really got me dialed in for skiing that Friday. Great way to break up the week, get a fix and hone the skills. I love night skiing! Glad I have a great place for it so close to home.

I would say easily 1/2 of my outings are at night .. Everyone by now should know of my fondness for night riding at Crotched. Long live Midnight Madness... There is nothing like riding into the black.

I've done it a couple of times at jiminey peak and Mountain Creek. Usually was day skiing and lingered into night skiing!

One thing noticed about night skiing is it is dark out at night! I find being able to see makes skiing a lot easier.
