I do. I rediscovered night skiing last season. It really is a great option to get some turns in mid-week if you have to work. It was also great for us last season as with the new baby, I could still escape for a few hours and then feed the baby when I got home.

Life's too short for warm up runs.

We went to Gunstock a few times for night skiing. It's nice if you have to do something Saturday morning, we could still get a full set of turns in.

I hit up Crotched every now and then for some night skiing. I love it, but I haven't yet done their Midnight Madness thing till 3AM yet. That looks like a long day!

Curved Ski Poles n. 1. Expert skier's poles bent at the factory to fit around the body and thus improve control and reduce air resistence. 2. Beginner's poles bent during use to fit around trees, trail signs, snowmaking equipment, lift towers, and other skiers.

Definitely, Wachusetts and Nashoba Valley. They are 10 to 40 min from work and home.
If I can’t do a day trip, I’ll make time to go at night. Depending on how busy I get, I’ll go after work or the weekend if the house chores pile up, it can with kid and a dog.

If the bumps at OK at Nashoba, that’s my first choice since it’s close to work otherwise its Wachusetts. Totally a different feel at night, after 8:00 pm most of the crowds are gone. Very serene and peaceful, I can laps with no wait at the lifts.

I really like nightskiing. I did it when I was younger at our town hill...used to go on T, W, and Fri nights. I also did quite a bit at Pats Peak in 2004 and 2005. I try to go at least once a year....

Some other places where I have gone:

Bolton Valley: I went in 2001 a few times. Good vert and great views of the Champlain Valley. Now it is much better with the new quad. They had one intermediate run, one expert run (and it was a good run), and some lower mountain runs.

Bretton Woods: I went probably in 1999 or so. It has not changed at all...still one easy trail and one lift. I'd like to see more...and I'd like to see them groom that run before nightskiing because it was BAD when we skied it.

Cranmore: Did a Twilight Session in 1994 or so. Had a great time. I only remember riding the East Bowl Double in the afternoon and hitting the frontside for the rest of the day. North Conway was fun. Now with the HSQ it must be fun. Glad they brought it back!

Lyndon Outing Club: Been there countless times. Natural snow, two trails, volunteer run, T-Bar. Good times.

Pats Peak: I really like night skiing here, did it several times. But I wish that they would groom their stuff before the night sessions. Now with Hurricane going as the expert run at night, it is going to be great. Cheap and fun on Saturday nights.

Nashoba: As said, small, but great vibe. You can see Boston. No lines and fun laps. Lots of great skiing side-to-side.

Blue Hills: Only one real night skiing trail, but it was cheap. Had a good night here in 2004. The chair ride was a dark one...

Wachusett: One night here in 2005. Good terrain variety and vert. Not bad with the crowds. Fast lifts and (usually) good snowmaking and grooming. The night I was there they "stopped" grooming the trails...so it got pretty nasty.

Hillend Dry Skiing: OK, exotic. I've night skied at this Scottish Dry Ski area. That is a real challenge and is fun.

I do want to try Shawnee Peak, Abram, Whaleback, and Bolton again.

Night Skiing

I have enjoyed night skiing at Jiminy. I like their "any 8 hours" ticket option. My only reservation, is just at twilight. I have to take a break and let darkness fully settle in before resuming skiing. At my age, my eyes need a bit of time to adjust to the light conditions. It takes us "old-timers" a bit longer. After that, I'm good to go! The BEST night skiing I have enjoyed is out west at Brighton UT. They actually illuminate double black diamond glades. If you have skied out west, you know what a "double black" out there is like!

I night ski at Wachusett twice a week. They usually groom EVERYTHING (or just about) right at sundown so it's usually real good skiing. There are only a few times that I've been up there at night and they haven't groomed: early season when there's one trail open, spring when it doesn't need it, and when there was NO ONE there during the day and the conditions are still fine at 5.

Never been. But there is a first time for everything. I plan to meet up with the AZ gang as frequently as possible this season at Ski Sundown.
