Recommendations for a Learner? (long)

Before anyone freaks out (look at the dates!) I'm bumping this REALLY old thread because I thought it might be useful if anybody new comes on here... plus it's a great refresher for me.

I LOVE the last statement about bvibert though.

Wow. It blows me away that we were talking about the guy with the 3rd highest number of posts now. Funny. He still is a man of few words in person though.

Funny, I actually joined here that day under a different username. Not sure why I didn't respond to this thread then. Guess I was shy. I didn't register with this name until about 6 months later, probably when I was jonsing for some skiing. I think I couldn't remember my original username and/or password so I made up a new one..

Unfortunately, it doesnt mean quality over quantity in this case.
