Cannon is awful/sucks... agreed - go to Loon, K-mart, WV, Attitrash, and the always ritzy Bretton Woods golf course instead!!!!!!!

yup - get a lesson - lots of reasonable options. AMC has cheap lessons at Gunstock every 2 weeks midweek, every mid-winter. Go where you can rent. I did it for a few years but making the "perfect turn" is freaking stressful unless that's all you want to do. Found it stifling and tiring...

i've been in the bowl a couple times and never successfully ridden an entire chute. Dropped the board once down Left Gully and luckily that missile didn't hit anyone badly (I recommend wearing a helmet!!!!), tomahawked down another gully. Heelside turns are more natural on steep terrain...

I've been chased away several times in the past - best to go early or late, in my opinion Other places with better vertical have a ski-at-your-own-risk policy

yah - Cannon was REALLY sweet today, as long as you stayed on the narrow/windy terrain and away from the vast expanses of wind-blown ice :) Mittersill was a fav for me today b/c nobody was there :)

For $249, the Ragged pass works for me as it is close (to where I am on weekends) and I'd shoot myself seeing it and not being able to ski it when conditions are good. BUT, if that were my only pass, I would get bored as they open terrain slowly and have a short season... when the glades are...

bump to thread - I'm surprised nobody's reporting any injuries with all the ice out there - ????? Last Thurs - my first time to Mt Snow - so icy I switched from snowboard to skis. Found some snowmaking in the park so I skied under it - 2nd run under the snowmaking must have hit an ice ball &...

now they just need a magic carpet over the saddle to Mitty :) hahaha took me 8 minutes to lug my snowboard over on Saturday but then, once at the bottom of the double, had to wait in an insane line of at least 10 minutes!!!

Glad you, too, had a fun day!!!! I don't know why they park the cars so there is no clearance behind to get out????? I was lucky to get a late morning spot that had a wider aisle behind it!! They do the same thing at Cannon!!!!
