im also hoping to find a site 200 yards away from trails and water sources that would have little impact.

i mapped out the orientation for it so i know what needs to be taken. im pretty good with a map and compass. learned most of my orientation from sea navigation. so yeah thats my back up and now that i know the trail is poorly kept im happy i did it

is a fleece blanket an item worth carrying while overnight backpacking? i love mine, but sometimes its a little to bulky. any input would be great

i worry most about the pollution they cause. i don't want them in the woods.

how about for those day hikes instead of a sleeping bag, just a fleece blanket? I love mine, if you don't use it for an emergency, its nice to lay out somewhere and just relax. its light and costs about $20-25 at ems.
