    The "Sugarbush Thread"

Well I can do both. I had an oportunity to ride with a grop of friends I have not seen in years. I also got to plant my potatoes and other spring crops. Saw an awesome local Dead band and have a bunch of fun. So not a bad trade off at all.

I took off last week to do some much needed mountain biking. Trails and conditions are excellent and I needed to get some good, hard miles in. Looks like Saturady will be sunny and warm. Maybe a 3 dayer is in store. Pics look nice. I guess I am not ready to throw in the towel. ;-)

Both the north linx and the GMX expansions shown above were scraped as far as I know. I think it might have been part of agreements with the USFS and the state. I'll be honest, I hope both never happen. Those areas are far to sensitive. Prime habitat for bears thrush and swooping whoopers.

I highly doubt GMVS will have any say if Alterra and management deside to proceed. Either way they can work around the race slopes with a trail down to the bottom on the skiers left or something. I realy don't think it is that big a deal.

Picked up two dudes coming back from MRG one day last month. They looked beat down. Turns out they set out on the long trail from above exterminator. Dropped in too late and bushwacked all the way down to somewhere below Betsies Barn on 17. Said it took them 3 plus hours to get out. I would...

I guess until they go for approvals we will not see a layout. I heard both.

Bode, the talk is that Killington might be getting a base village like a smaller Pallizades or Vail. It would be in the K1 parking lot area or so the rumor has it.

I heard somthing from one of my corprate friends the other day. I heard that some Alterra people were kicking around Killington recently. Not sure if is was just a visit to see how they do things or if there is something a little more deep but something was up.

Aren't we splitting hairs a little bit too much here? It will be a new lift that will send up slightly more people than before. That is all. My biggest take away is that this lift will be new and will run much better, not break down and most likely run more often when there is marginal...

The plan as it was stated was to have the chair be spaced to deliver a similar amount of people to the top so that the trails would not be overwhelmed. The fixed grip quad was also picked because it is heavier and less prone to wind holds. They also said that they were going to make the lift a...

Both Win and John Hamond have both said on numerous occasions that Alterra bought Sugarbush and planned to let them run it oun our own. At least for now. Their intital due dillegence showed them that we are a vialble business. Our revenue stream for everything from lodging, food and Bev...

Rob, we don't have the snow making they have. not even close. It not a fair comparison. We don't have water capacity, the pipes are old and leak and I am sure we don't have the budget they have. Things are going to get better but it is going to take time.

Whatever they do it will be great to have more trails. The ones on the Bravo side are fun but you have to be expert to ride them. Very tech. I always thought that gate house would be a better place for riding. It is less steep. There used to be one or two trails you could ride over there...
