    Today I felt old because...

Well, I feel old because I think it's been 7 years since my last post. Used to post a bit, but somehow lost my password I thought, byt today, there it was ********lol. Anyways, gave up mtb awhile back, 7 years ago, cracked some ribs chasing Bvibert, and at 52 then, realized I wasn't going to...

    Hiking Footwear

recently spent 11 days in my Waterproof Teva boots(I think they're these) http://www.teva.com/mens-raith-storm-mid-wp/4308,default,pd.html?dwvar_4308_color=BELU&start=1&cgid=men-shoes-hiking-shoes while on a trip to the West coast. Packed light, so it was just these for footwear. I was real...

    Best hiking food?

agree with some of the above. Clif bars, raisins/peanuts/wasabi pea mix, and a nice apple to clean the teeth.

    Generators

Where is your solar panel? I would have no choice other than putting it on my roof. it's next to the patio behind the house. South facing. Unfortunately (fortunately??) I have a lot of trees that block direct sun for more than a few hours a day, but it keeps things topped off. I can run about...

    Generators

I have a generator (Hyundai 7250) and like it a lot. Quieter than the generacs by a wide margin. My main input to this thread is that I added deep cycle batteries, a 50 amp charger, small solar panel (60 watt so far), and an inverter. This allows overnight/early morning furnace, fridge...

    HF Generator

bought a " chicago electric" powered log splitter, which lasted 20 minutes. Called them up, and salesman was an a-hole. Sent me over to the mfg. supervisor, who admitted that their stuff was now made in China, and yeah, it was crap. Bought a honda powered log splitter, and haven't looked back...

    Apple vs Samsung

Apple should get on the consumer beneficial memory expansion bandwagon, but using $5 micro sd cards instead of $100 cpu mods is probably patented by every other electronics mfg. out there now hahahah

    Lance Armstrong folds

I love :dontknow: how innocent 'til proven guilty has changed to guilty due to heresy. Still trying to figure out what barbiturates the usada must be on to be so late to the guillotine. Can't stand watching the sport anymore. Screw the committees and their witch hunts, let them race. Lance was...

    Apple vs Samsung

After looking at decent tablets, I narrowed it down to Ipod and Galaxy. 8 gig ipod $200, 8 gig galaxy $175...16 gig ipod is $100 extra, adding 8 gigs to a galaxy is $5.69....I added 32 gigs for $19.80. Love my Galaxy; it is nicer than my kids Ipod.
