    Weekend crowds ?

Stratton had crazy lines yesterday--but a bunch of lifts were down due to wind. Plus everyone came out due to the recent storms. Today at Pico was not crowded at all.

    Pico-3/17

I was there today. The snow was awesome--usually I avoid moguls unless they are soft spring bumps but due to the snow conditions today I was able to spend 75% of the time working on them. The conditions were like a normal day in Colorado--pretty unique for mid March in New England.

What's it like skiing in the rain?

Pretty much the only thing I enjoy about skiing in the rain is that quite often, there won't be a lot of other people there.

    Chairlift Entertainment or Awkwardness

Yeah, I'm with Riverskier. I'll talk if the other person initiates conversation--I'm not going to snub someone--but I generally don't like small talk.

MLK Black Out/Perceived Poor Conditions (The Perfect Storm for Lower Resort Visits?)

I wondered if the fact that the Patriots are playing a big game this Sunday will have any effect on skier visits on Sunday--despite the holiday weekend. The fact that the weather has been crap, limited open terrain and the game I was thinking could possibly translate into fewer people...

Boston Ski and Snowboard Expo 2013

Aspen, Telluride, Winter Park and Steamboat were there. No Copper and no Crested Butte. Vail Resorts had general booth that covered all its locations.

Skiing T-shirts at the Beach (Representing)

I have a couple that I wear that I've bought on various trips out west--Steamboat, Aspen, Telluride. I haven't bought any locally. One of my Steamboat ones is a play on the surf movie the Endless Summer--it has a graphic of a skier carrying skis (instead of the surfer carrying a board) and it...

Killington during Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge?

Thanks--that would be my goal: avoid the crowds and try to ski as much as possible while everyone else is partying.

Killington during Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge?

Have never been to Killington on BMMC weekend--- Is it a complete zoo when actually skiing or is most of the chaos confined to the Bear Mountain base? I'm considering going that weekend, but am just wondering how busy the actual skiing tends to be or if most people just go for the party...

    Alyeska Resort - 3/4/2013 - 3/7/2013

Cool pics. You just did one of the exact trips on my "wish list"---Iditarod and Alyeska combo.

    DIN question

It was Summit Ski in Framingham. Well, they should have also adjusted the forward pressure, since my BSL dropped 11mm, so the forward pressure would have definitely needed to be adjusted on the bindings--not just the DIN. It sounds like a legit explanation--I was just surprised at first that the...

    DIN question

I just brought 2 pairs of skis into a shop to have the bindings adjusted for new boots. On one pair, they set the heels at a different DIN than the toes. I questioned them as to why this was and they said it had to do with the machine they use to test the pressure it takes to release the...
