What is the best green run in the East?

What about skied Hudson Highway at Saddleback? A fine balance of beginner friendly and not tooooo tedious for others. I hope to get there this season. michael

    Saddleback

I LOVE Saddleback and I am glad they finally have a new owner. I do not see a path to lifts swinging this season. It was crickets up there last week.

    Saddleback

I take a long term view. If ANYONE comes in and has the capital to replace the lower lift and otherwise improves the skiing product that improves the long term prospects. Don't like this week's buyer? standby and enjoy the product they put out while they put it out. Then be ready to rinse...

From the webcam it looks like they groomed and pushed snow into the corner?

    Fat Lady Thread 2017

The number of skiers dwindles FAR faster than the terrain at this time of year.

    Big Burke announcement

Burke skied extremely well this weekend- anything with snowmaking was great and parts of the East side were in play. East bowl was open and very skiiable both days, Powerderhorn, Sasquatch and Wilderness all were incredible on Saturday (mind you, incredible for April 15th). Now, was it a good...

Stenger and Quiros Ousted from Management of Jay Peak and Burke

Stenger and Quiros Ousted from Management of Jay Peak and Burke

$140mil will go a long way towards cleaning up the creditors- that should make the prospect of a sale more possible. I hope they don't rush that. The receiver has been a better steward of Jay and Burke than we have seen for a long, long time.

    Ski Etiquette questions

I wish it did- people ski past "race in progress" and "course closed" signs w/o a look. They do stop at roped off trails, but as I said above, that is a hard choice.

    Ski Etiquette questions

Two points w/r/t using a race course that seems to be un attended-- 1) herein lies the rub w/r/t trail closures etc. Resorts and race hill managers are caught between leaving terrain available when a race venue doesn't need the full trail & trying to be safe w/r/t the interactions between the...

    Jay Peak bombshell

PDW set records all across New England. You can bitch all you want, but there is not a ski area in the region that did not need this weekend's shot in the arm. After last year's hemorrhaging of $ there is a steep hill to climb. As for the sale of Jay Peak &/or Burke, the word on the street is...
