    Jay this weekend

Jay Peak was pretty phenomenal. I got on the lift at 8:36am and enjoyed about 6" of powder in the AM and the glades were great fun. The temps never softened the snow and the snow was powdery all the way to my last turn at 4:30pm. The snow is still 4' deep in spots in the glades, and only a very...

    Jay this weekend

I'm coming up from the Berskhires, Massachusetts to Jay Peak early tomorrow morning and am looking for someone to ski with. I'm an "advanced" skier and will be looking to get some early runs in in the trees, but sort of prefer not to ski alone.

    My new skis

Went to Wachusett with Mishka and tested out a pair of 175 MR custom skis. These had 87 under foot and about a foot I think of rocker. They were a blast for the conditions (mashed potatoes, temps in the 50s). They handled the snow really well, and even though I couldn't see (heavy fog all day) I...

    Jay all snow!?

On The Snow phone app is reporting a high of 31 at the base today and snow, yet www.onthesnow.com is reporting that Jay's high temp today at the base will be 38. Looks like Jay's website is corroborating with the phone app! Man, I have to get up there again pronto!

The scouring of Saddleback (Wed 3/25)

Mishka and I had a good time up at Saddleback yesterday. Compared to conditions at Jay the other day, though, the trails were mostly scoured clean by wind. What little untracked powder there was was very compact and heavy (dry, uncrusty, but heavy). Still, we had a good time in the trees. No...

    My new skis

Here's a video from a little later in the afternoon; my second run on the MR100s, demonstrating their nimbleness and control:

Jay Peak, Thursday March 19, 2015

It didn't seem very secret. It was very easy to get to. I just wish I hadn't tried to get back to the lift and had made more of a run of the last third. :p

Haha! Great thread Billski! Yeah, sorry I left you guys hanging a few times. But Bill is exactly right; kid in a candy store! I have never skied in such widesppread spectacular conditions before; nor at a mountain with so many glades. I mean, there were glades everywhere! I don't think I've ever...

    My new skis

Here's a video of my first time on powder skis. Mishka and I have same boot size so he was kind enough to let me try his MR100s out! It's a bit hard for me to review them as I have never skied on a powder ski before so cannot compare them to anything; I've never skied on anything like them. I...

    Boston Cyclists?

I recently acquired an all carbon road bike I want to put to some use this year. I'm looking to link up with some roadies! Looking to start off relatively easy (16-17mph -- 20-25 miles) as it's been several years since I had a real season of riding. I'm a thin, 35 year old male and do better on...
