    Wachusett Opening Sunday 8AM

The road that cuts across Conifer, 10th and Smith takes a ton of snow to cover and make it skiable over. I hope you're right Zand about Ralph's and Challenger.

    Wachusett Opening Sunday 8AM

Yeah, just saw that. That's good terrain to work on one footed skiing, but pretty darn flat. This is all so they can brag about how early they "opened."

    Early Season Snowmaking 2017

Yeah. Wachusett early season is fun, but very, very limited amount of terrain, and if they do get Conifer open (which I doubt) it really sucks the first day or so.

    Wachusett Opening Sunday 8AM

Agree. At some point early season you get the teen racers training and that makes it a bit "interesting" shall I say? Narrow trail with skiers flying by, often on one ski and nowhere on the side to stop and get out of the way. Also Instructor Training. However first chair, first couple of...

    Early Season Snowmaking 2017

Yep, that's right, in the afternoon. As I recall it was pretty bad that first day and we stayed on Challenger. Fine with me to get the season started with some easy skiing on decent snow as compared to skiing on steeper icy junk. Yeah, I liked it when the opened Conny first too. First day...

    Early Season Snowmaking 2017

No I don't think they did, I was there opening day. Doesn't say in my log though so I could remember wrong.

    Early Season Snowmaking 2017

With less than 36 hours to make snow I'd guess it would just be the typical Ralph's and Challenger and pretty narrow. WROD here I come!

What is the MOST SKI DAYS you’ve got in a season?

I got 92 last year. Many of them mornings at Wachusett that I live near. Until then mostly had been in the 50's and 60's. Aiming for 100 this season!

    Berkshire East Northface expansion video

Big Chief is a challenging trail for an intermediate, no question about it. I've tried to get a lot of people down it over the years. Problem is (was) that is was the only "blue" off the summit besides Mohawk and it got really scraped off on a busy day. If they could make it better it would...

Berkshire East is getting a new quad...

I noticed on the website that Hemlock is now under the "Natural Snow" category. That would be awesome if it's the case. Nice long run.

    Berkshire East 3/24/2014

They will close on Sunday if not sooner. They are never open in April, end of March is great for the B-East. Even this weekend the trails were thinly populated at most. I'm thinking of heading up on Wednesday if anyone wants to meet to make a few turns.
