Sugarloaf West Mtn Expansion and HSQ officially a go

Agreed. Most of the blue/black terrain at both mountains is about 2500-2600 ft and up.

Sugarloaf West Mtn Expansion and HSQ officially a go

It is although that includes the massive runout of the Snubber lift. It is a very flat real estate lift. Sugarloaf's base village is around 1800 ft.

    Saddleback Maine

I see both sides here....my vision was exactly the same as Deadheads but I've heard the the next move to open new terrain will be a a high speed lift up to the top of the nubble lookers left of the Rangeley base terminal (the sub peak at the bottom of Muleskinner). This would be a new base area...

I've been told they can't keep up...Price is not scaring anyone away. Everything they can commit to building for this coming ski season is already sold. The remainder of the buildout (next year) is almost fully committed.

Deadheadskier I would agree...sport on. As they push the ski boundary further east (lookers left) there is a lot of potential for even more continuous vertical. Under the current footprint, the terrain is naturally segmented across ability level which is also an asset...But when that happens...

The roads this time of year are tough almost everywhere in rural Maine due to the frost heaves and freeze/thaw cycles...The driving conditions are about the same a SL, as is distance. As for skiing off the backside...it was explored during the Warren Cook days of Saddleback. They were going to...

    Saddleback

Yeah, we'll see...Most of the claims in the article have gone unsubstantiated however, i.e. they have completed other projects, there are no outstanding liens. There was a re-zoning of the said church and took a couple years to resolve, a lien resulted during that time apparently. I would take...

    Saddleback

They've clearly communicated to property owners that they're soft opening this season, as they continue to ramp of for next year....There is a lot of visible work being completed on the mountain. All the chairlifts (other than the defunct Rangeley Double) were just removed last week for grip...

Saddleback Mountain Cooperative - Information Thread & Survey

You didn't miss anything..They're being careful not to over-promise and under-deliver. If they raise the money quickly and the community gets behind this with their wallets, they will likely open in some capacity this year...

Saddleback Mountain Cooperative - Information Thread & Survey

All great questions...I can speak to the relationship between SMCR and SMF, which clears up a few of the Q's. The SMF, when approved, will sit atop the organization. They will lease the land to SMCR (don't know for what, ask the tax attorney). As I understand it, there will essentially be 3...
