EVs - New Hampshire gets it right

I agree on that point to an extent. Most people aren't driving hundreds of miles every weekend like a lot of skiers do. The average trip is 7 miles round trip to work, the grocery store, pharmacy, etc. With 30 to 40 miles electric range most people would hardly every kick into the gas mode in a...

    VAIL SUCKS

Exactly. Vail was 31 out of 32 in their category. They don't say how many choices were on the survey. I'm guessing 32 and Wendy's just took a beating for their dynamic pricing trial in a few states.

Alta Honors Ski Vouchers from 1970

It would have been really stupid for Alta not to accept the gift certificates from a PR and marketing point of view. It really didn't cost them anything to honor them. And they got a lot more that two lift tickets worth of good PR for doing it.

    VAIL SUCKS

That's why I said, "it's limited" I don't know if it's true but the rumor is that an employee was seriously injured skiing the woods years ago and that's when skiing off the trails was banned.

    VAIL SUCKS

I think their prices are in line with other ski areas. Elk weekend: $94, weekday: $78. Camelback weekend: $99, weekdays: $79 Plus $12.00 minimum for parking. I'd rather take the Elk wagon than schlep from the lower parking lot at Camelback after paying a minimum of $12 to park. And if you get to...

    Offer made to buy Burke

Yes, but in nongovernment settlements the organization or the defendant has to pay the settlement. The lawmakers screw up and are negligent and, like you said, "They shifted the burden to the taxpayers."

    Offer made to buy Burke

And the government officials get to wipe their hands and walk away without any accountability at all. "As part of the settlement, government officials deny wrongdoing."

    VAIL SUCKS

Re AirBnBust: This is already happening and was evident and was reported on during the Super Bowl. About half of the AirBnB's were not rented a few days before the Super Bowl in Phoenix. Other places also have an over supply of AirBnB's due to "everyone" thinking it was easy money. I just heard...

    Indy Ski Pass

According to the Indy website, Cannon is blacked out weekends through Sunday, March 12th. People complaining may not have read the website and were trying to book blacked out weekends? You may want to double check the date you reserved or call them to verify that you can use it this weekend.

    VAIL SUCKS

Might be the J1's that they have to guarantee 32 hrs a week to? Maybe the GM at Jack Frost didn't get the memo that he was supposed to lay them off.

    IKON Class Action Lawsuit Credits

The only people to make money on class action law suits is the lawyers. Most times people get something like a 50 cents off coupon after the lawyers take their cut.

    VAIL SUCKS

From my experience, a lot bean counters only look at costs. "You have to cut costs!" They never understand that sometimes you have to spend a nickel to make a dime.

    VAIL SUCKS

Vail is publicly traded company. Why would anyone think their goal is to keep skiers happy? They already have your money. It's all about the bottom line and keeping the stockholders happy. I worked for two companies that were very well run and very profitable. The presidents realized that...

    Stratton Gondola, WTF?

Those old cabins were a joke. They had some weird type of shelf that was about 9 inches wide that was too high to sit on. The only way those things would hold 12 people were if they were all named Twiggy and they inhaled when the door closed. They rarely even held 8 people.

    High Priced Lift Tickets

I agree that they are killing off future customers and not looking at the long run. I also think that current crowds will subside a bit as people get back into other activities post Covid. (i.e. Weddings, birthday parties, kids other winter sports, etc.) Publicly traded companies only care about...
