And no satans stairway either.....I think everyone here is massively disappointed in you
Woa. I want pics
Congrats! (to one of you ;) )
Congrats! How old will he be before he stands on ski? :daffy:
I wonder what will be the fate of the lift. Not only for the rest of the season, but if it will be replaced ASAP like spillway
Judging by how wildly the downhill chairs (chairs that SHOULD be going downhill) are swinging, I think the roll back was much faster than that at its apex. You have to remember that people took out...
This will seriously hurt sugarloafs reputation. One accident can be considered a freak occurrence, but 2 in the last 5 years and people will assume it's an unsafe Mtn and just stay away.
I've heard that. I also heard that he wanted to make two trails but only got approval for one and a lift, so.......
Sounds like jiminy has had to do this before? I'd love to hear from someone in management on the reasoning why. I bet it really is because kids were getting blow off, what else could it be, kids...
I'd check Craigslist. I bought a chair from the old exhibition triple at A-Basin for $100
I say it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. 4 hours is my limit, although if it's a major pow day, that could turn into 6 hours which I'd have to account for
At first glance, I thought this was a story about someone embellishing injuries from a drone.
Boy, was I wrong
It can only turn one direction, in this case right, due to the grip of the chair facing outboard.
I believe it was installed in the late 90's, sounds like you just missed it
There's a lot of property in the way, other than that turn, all towers support uphill and downhill chairs
This is pure speculation but I think breck management wanted the lift to start and finish in its current location but the land that was needed for it to travel in a straight line was privately owned...
Pretty sure that's the same as the pic the op posted ;)
Here's a pic I took of the baldy express sheaves back in April. May go out there again in a couple weeks too, I'll try to take a couple more pics if your interested.
Chair 5 at Breckenridge has a 3 degree left turn as well, I didn't even notice it until someone told me it's so subtle. They also have a collapsible tower they use in the summer for the alpine slide....
I think you'll need to compete with tiger
41. I've tied the amount of lift served days from last year. Barring any injury, I should be able to hit 50 days
I tried some Icelandic pilgrims a couple days ago, those skis could carve like no other.
I may have to add those to my quiver come season end so that I have something to play with on non-pow days
