    The "Sugarbush Thread"

Some nasty r!@n moving in right now. Would be surprised if Gate House lasted much past Sunday. Ski and Ride closes on Sunday, too. Stein's still looks great. The groomers will have their work cut out for them farming snow on upper Snowball so people can get to Fling.

Bravo maybe a 2 minute wait right now. Gate House is ski on. Longest line is to get eclipse glasses. Snow was great this morning. Getting a little soft now. North Lynx lift was "pod of the day" 10-11am. Steins skiing great.

Little poster at Lincoln Peak says Mt Ellen is available for rent in April, 10am-2pm, for $7800 plus a minimum $1000 food/beverage.

Weekend of April 6-7 is shaping up to be really busy. There's the potential for decent snow that week, the Valley is sold out for the eclipse, it's Pride Weekend and the PSIA is running their Spring Rally. All on half a hill. Oh, and the Wonderbar is closed for the season. The harmonic...

Heard from an insider today that Slide Brook isn't running because of access issues for emergency people.

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

It was a pretty spectacular day at SB. Sure felt like one of the busiest of the year. Thought the crowds were handled reasonably well. Way busier early morning than on a usual Sunday...and people hung out longer than normal. Super Bravo got busy at times, but for me never longer than 10 minutes...

    Windhold Galore

Skied Sugarbush (Lincoln) all morning. Wind is definitely blowing with a bit of an attitude. Heavens Gate and Castlerock closed. Found that North Lynx was well protected from the wind. Morning Star is spectacular...deep, soft, not wind blown. If it weren't for some work commitments I'd keep going.

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

Hey Home Slices. I may be in the minority but I kinda like the SB snow report. It may be a little "young" in the vernacular but I like the enthusiasm and personality. It's not an easy job trying to keep a snow report fresh and entertaining day after day... especially when you have to get up at 0...

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

Got to Mt Ellen from 3-4. Storm skiing at it's best. Still snowing and windy. Did I mention wind? Can't remember the last time I skied in winds with quite such an attitude. A ton of light fluffy snow on top of Sunday's denser dumping. Wish I had more than an hour.

Still snowing in Fayston, a good 14" in my yard. More at elevation apparently. Snow much lighter than Sunday's. Not as windy as earlier. If I could just get off this damn Zoom call I'm going out. Love it when a storm over delivers.

    The ALTERRA SUCKS Thread

A quick report form the other side of the Wasatch. Just back from a week at Solitude. Arrived week ago Saturday to a storm that dropped 20+". Several 6+" refreshes during the early part of the week. Found fresh snow everyday. Even fresh, untouched lines in Honeycomb on Saturday, 6 days after the...

    Sub-$50 lift ticket possible?

I know both Dartmouth Skiway and Middlebury quite well. Midd tends to get more snow. Both have decent terrain although I prefer the variety at Midd. (not having the Falls lift is a minor issue, you an still access the majority of the hill without it.) Combining Midd and Mt Ellen as a 2 day trip...

    VAIL SUCKS

To the point a little earlier about the STR market crashing. Maybe not. My ski oriented units had a good winter, better than the previous year. I saw no decline in demand. My summer oriented places are already 90% booked (which is better than last year at this time) and this after a pretty...

Going down memory lane...I miss the North Lynx Poma lift. Remember getting yelled at by patrol for poaching the powder on what is now Morning Star.

Did Mt Ellen 11 to 1;30. Excellent Spring snow. Cliffs was run of the day at 1. Cruiser, Looking Good, Rim Run didn't suck either. Took Slide Brook back. Kinda mushy and sticky on the Lincoln side.

You can definitely get a private lesson and an experienced instructor to take you into Slidebrook. I did it a few weeks ago. The 3 hour private is expensive but I believe you can add on several people for no additional cost. Call ski school, tell them you want to go into Slidebrook and ask for...

I've done late afternoon Zoom meetings from the Sleeper Room in Gate House and from one of the changing rooms in the boot room downstairs...just sayin' The judicious use of the mute button helped.
