    Bretton Woods?

My preference is mountains like Sugarloaf and Jay Peak. I enjoy challenging terrain and am enjoy the woods when there is coverage. That being said is Bretton Woods worth the trip or would I get bored quickly. Is there enough glades to entertain.

    Gore Mtn first timer

Heading to Gore next week. A few questions. What time do the lifts start during the week? Is there multiple base areas to park, which one is better for blue/black skier? It looks like numerous terrain pods, is it easy to navigate to different areas or is it confusing and require numerous...

Black Mountain Maine 1.5.14 You can't beat the $15 Lift Ticket

For the price you can't beat the value of this place. It has just under 1400' vertical. The summit chair goes base to summit so every run takes in the vertical. The terrain isn't the most challenging but they are adding new trails and glades. And it's always $15 to ski. The conditions were...

Schoodic and Black Mountains in Downeast Maine 12.8.13

Schoodic and Black are located not too far north of Frenchman's Bay and offer fine views from their open summits especially towards Acadia's mountains and the ocean. They are just over 1000' but like Acadia nearly all that elevation is gained since they are close to the ocean. Still free of...

Little Spencer Mountain: A Moosehead Lake Gem 11.30.13

The mountains of the Mooshead Lake region are overlooked by many hikers. That's good for me because I get them to myself. The area is remote and getting to the trailhead is half the battle, especially if you aren't familiar with the area. One of the best in the region and finest views in Maine...

Borestone Mountain 11.4.13 (Monson/Moosehead area, Maine)

Borestone Mountain located at the edge of the 100 Mile Wilderness near Monson is a good bang for the buck that I sometimes escape to for a quick outing. With a free afternoon and just a few hours of light I headed there Monday afternoon. With crystal clear skies, I wasn't disappointed. At just...
