Did anyone else notice a bit of red at the bottom of the corona? Solar flare?

    Eclipse PSA

Spent a three day weekend at Jay. My buddy has been planning this for a year. I just couldn't commit, too much money, too much uncertainty. On top of that, I knew I'd be flying to Colorado for a week. After returning from Colorado my buddy said his cousin was joining in, giving him $100/night...

    2023/2024 Season Passes

Bought my Greek Peak pass for 2023-2024 yesterday. They're offering close to $100 off this year's price for one week only, $565. I think they're afraid fence sitters might not reup after the shit season we've had this year. Happy for the discount.

I'm required to wear either glasses, or safety glasses at my work. I got new contacts and decided to wear them to work. It was a pita. The worst part was using the computer. The screen was in no man's land. Too close for contacts, too far for readers. I now wear my glasses to work, exchange them...

Can't wear contacts? I can't imagine still wearing glasses to ski. I think I'd get prescription goggles if I couldn't wear contacts

    A-Basin, CO | 2/22/23 | Storm Skiing!

I've storm skied Abasin too. It was my first, and only, time experiencing vertigo while skiing. It was a little disconcerting. I remember exiting tha Montezuma chair and deciding to head to the base. In my mind's eye it should be all downhill. I forgot there's a little bowl below the lift. When...

    Lift holds for Cold

I skied Greek Peak Saturday morning. I did have to stop and warm up after about an hour, my feet were getting cold. Conditions were great, crowd was light, as expected. Greek did have to evac chair 2 around 2 o'clock. I was done skiing by then . Chair 2 is an ancient Carlevaro-Savio. It was the...

Skier and Snowboarder code with modern updates.

They were being blown down the hill at the upper mountain lodge at Loveland last spring. I guess they were left lying flat on the snow. That was a first for me. I have seen a runaway board from the lift, didn't look like it'd be fun to be in it's way.

Best vehicle for booting up in the parking lot.

I still think taking his wipers off would've been good, it may have been precipitating, I can't remember. I think scratching the windshield would be unavoidable unless you noticed they were gone before turning them on. Pulling the blades out of the holder would be bests for stealth and carnage.

Best vehicle for booting up in the parking lot.

No, a foot away is a mild annoyance, six inches, you deserve retribution. Back in the day when cars came with bench seats up front, yes, it would be annoying to have to slide across from the passenger door, climbing over a shift lever and brake handle is a pita. If you're too lazy to walk to the...

Best vehicle for booting up in the parking lot.

my buddy boots up inside his car, in the driver's seat! It hurts just to think about it. Off topic, someone once parked inches from my driver's door once. I had to enter via the passenger door. It might not have been so bad if I didn't drive stick. Sodimized by a shift, and brake, lever. Once it...

    The Turles are growing

I saw a couple Teletubbies loading a chair at Sugarloaf. They were good costumes. They looked lke the actual Teletubbies on a ski vacation. It was during one if the AZ summits. Batman and Superman were there too. First time I've seen costumes mid winter. Alot of people wear weird shit late...

Ski and Snowboard helmets. Do you? or don't you? ride with one!! Have you been saved by one?? What are you using? and how is it?

Careful there, im the same, helmet mid winter, baseball cap on Superstar in May, worked well except about 10 yrs ago, just started down the last steep drop, still snow skier's right in the woods, someone popped out airborne from the woods right as i was passing, 90 degrees to flow of traffic, i...
