Is there an "Ignore User" function on this site? Edit: There is!!! No more reading posts by people with serious Dunning-Kruger effect.

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

In all my years here I've never thought of this place as toxic. Sure, we occasionally have a clueless member show up trying to troll on a given topic but they're usually gone once people start calling them out for their BS. The vast majority of people on AZ are friendly.

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

It gets a lot of action because of how great the mountain is. The attitude you speak of is more prevalent up at Stowe, IMO, but it's also being expressed more in general. People feeling entitled isn't anything new but what IS new is that in the current culture people seem to think you can say...

My apologies, ducky. I read it quickly and missed "just about" with regard to him being pushed. Sorry for the confusion. With your description of what happened I agree, the guy should have moved over.

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

Do you think it's okay for someone who's acting like a jerk to get his way (aka passing the guy who was pushed)? There is no "on the other hand" when it comes to someone pushing down another person to get by. None. Maybe the guy should have stepped aside but that doesn't make the aggressors...

    Sugarbush Lift Replacements?

SB87 has an agenda and it's not even well-argued. I'm not sure why anyone is responding to it at this point.

    Sugarbush Lift Replacements?

As long as the lifts are running and reliable I don't care if any are upgraded. I'd rather see snowmaking heavily invested in and then, if the red tape could be navigated, some new terrain added. In the main SB thread a potential area or two have already been discussed.

Sugarbush is being sold to Alterra...

I have the Base and I was thinking of what I would do if they go unlimited. The reality is that it's a 3 1/2-4 hour drive for me each way and I don't know if I'll be able to get up to SB more than the 5 days I already have. Plus, I like to hit multiple resorts each season. If that wasn't the...

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

I imagine there must be some mixed emotions for you. I just wanted to say that, like others, we all really appreciate what you've done with Sugarbush. I'm REALLY happy that you and your team are staying! The vibe at SB is one of the best things about skiing there and keeps me coming back...

Sugarbush is being sold to Alterra...

Jay is one close to a major population center...Montreal. Alterra already has Tremblant. I think Jay makes a ton of sense for Ikon. As for SB, I hope they invest heavily in snowmaking first. With climate change and the temp swings we've been experiencing they need to be able to recover...

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

Well, I said I imagine it would be to Alterra but I didn't mean to imply it's the obvious choice. Given how Vail and Alterra have been buying up mountains I'm sure they'd be interested in buying, even if Win wasn't interested in selling to a big operation. I don't follow the business side...

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

Is anyone really surprised that Win hasn't answered a question related to his ownership? If I was him I wouldn't touch questions like that with a 10' ski pole. As for the rumors/speculation, if SB is sold then I imagine it's to Alterra. I'm sure they're looking to respond to VR's acquisition...

    Big Sky Lodging

I stayed at the Lodge at Big Sky last year. It was pretty good but not the cheapest. You can walk to the lift or they have a shuttle. https://www.lodgeatbigsky.com/location

Vail Resorts is buying Peak Resorts.

Regarding Smuggs...It's a no-brainer for Vail to buy it but here's a crazy thought. What are the chances of Alterra playing the spoiler and buying it to keep Vail from creating the Stowe-Smuggs super resort? Plus, Smuggs is accessed from the north so coming from the direction of the Montreal...

Vail Resorts is buying Peak Resorts.

Alterra, please buy Jay and Burke in reaction to this. Please? I have the Ikon pass again this year. Next year's pass purchase is going to be harder choice now without Jay and Burke on Ikon.

    Jackson Hole

I skied Tower Three Chute the day after a storm so maybe my experience was not the norm but I really enjoyed it. Bumps were soft and they helped with speed control. Alta 1 was probably my favorite run, though.

    Jackson Hole

BTW, if Corbet's is on your list make sure you hit Alta 1 chute and Tower Three Chute. Tough but fun runs without the insane entries like Corbet's.
