Tech Video - Racetiger vs. Carbon Box Torsion Test

Again, the point of the video is not to say that my skis are better. It seems hasty to me to say that custom skis are better than mass production skis, by default. Some Nordicas (and others) use all pre-pregs. Some Heads have graphene (extremely impressive). These brands have many decades of...

Tech Video - Racetiger vs. Carbon Box Torsion Test

mishka, the point of the test is to show how different torsion technologies decouple torsion and bending stiffness. I don't see any reason why you can't compare skis that are built differently. If they were built the same, there would be no need to compare. You are absolutely right that...

    pre-ordering next year's skis

Lots of indie brands offer this as it allows us to fill-in summer production runs and predict volume better.

    Waist size...

I ski Cannon 99% of the time and like a 78mm carver for any day. Even when I have other widths available, I find that instead of checking conditions I just grab the 78s and go.

Looking for an East Coast All-Mountain Ski???

Keep in mind that 130lbs is fairly light, with the average ski being designed for a 175 to 180 lbs male. Opting for shorter lengths is very good as it increases your edge pressure (akin to narrow tires on winter rally cars). This weight difference greatly effects your flotation too. If...

Help me design a topsheet for a frontside carver...

So I run a composites company that makes carbon sporting goods. This year we will be releasing our own brand of advanced/expert frontside carvers (first model will be 78 underfoot w/ a slalom-esque sidecut). We want to know what your favorite topsheets are. They do NOT have to be your...
