Jay Peak Thread (New owners, New Future)

The simple fact that there hasn't been a PGRI Sucks thread created here on AZ probably speaks volumes as to how generally positive it's been under them! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

EVs - New Hampshire gets it right

As a guy who grew up hanging on a tow rope behind many Nautiques on Winnipesaukee, appreciate the old school Nautique... but the reality is if one can afford (and feels like their ego needs) a cyber truck, the Nautique on the trailer behind the cyber truck should be either 25yrs newer or a...

    2024- 2025 Gear

Agree with that general sentiment. I spent the majority of my days this season on a couple of pairs that I have in my quiver that are in the mid 90's underfoot (Atomic Maveric 94's and Kastle FX 96's). I was generally happy with them, Occasionally if the snow surface was FORM, I'd grab a pair...

    2024- 2025 Gear

I've got the Kastle FX 96's (Great ski that can do most anything pretty well). I convinced a buddy of mine last Fall to buy a pair of the FX 86's under the caveat that if he didn't like them at all, I'd buy them off of him for what he paid Powder7 for them. I never had to hand him the $$ (I...

    Your 2023-24 Ski Season Thread

Logged Day 70 yesterday. Pretty sure I am done for the season as I have a bunch of family stuff the next few weekends.. And I am also feeling the urge to switch into golf mode for the next 7ish months

    2024- 2025 Gear

Same factory, yes I knew that. Finish level from what I have scene 1st hand visually, as well as heard real world accounts of from my friends who skied there's probably 25-30 days this year, (and atleast the husbrand friend has a pair of Ripsticks in his quiver) is much above what the typical...

    2024- 2025 Gear

I'll give report on them early next season. Ordered a pair of the Peak 88's by Bode for both my wife and I when they had their 2 pairs for $999 deal recently - and if either of us don't like them they will give us a full refunded if we return them by 12/31/2024. We have friends of ours where...

    VAIL SUCKS

Nope, Wildcat, Stowe and Mount Snow spun their lifts the last time for the general public this season this past Sunday

    VAIL SUCKS

The price increase deadline (technically 1st price increase as the most recently deadline was just about the Buddy Passes and not price), typically is late Summer. I am sure as they always do, will send out a flood of "warnings" in the weeks leading up to an actual price increase via emails and...

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

I think it would be a LONG time, if ever, before they'd develop the terrain above the top of Inverness, especially with all of the investment that GMVS has put into that pod on both Inverness and Brambles to create a really world class training facility for their athletes for the season, that...

MIght be that or they have some pre Summer season planned maintenance in those areas/lifts that they need a set amount of time to do prior to Summer ops

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

I suspect that there is some equation where it is calculated that on average a lift will spin X # of minutes per hour vs the entire 60 minutes without stopping that the industry uses. Just seems weird to see the numbers published that way where as most every other lift capacity that I can...

    The "Sugarbush Thread"

Anyone else find it interesting that when you take that projected capacity of 1814/hr and divide it by 4, that you don't end up with a whole number? You get 453.5.. That math seems curious to me, unless they're going to grab 1 double chair from say Castletock, and throw it on the haul rope with...

    Killllington 🎿🏂🏂🎿🎿🏂🏂🎿😀

The reality is that so many 1st and 2nd generation high speed lifts built in the late 80's through the 90's are new previously unknown machines operating with what purchasers and manufacturers hoped would be a similar (50 yr or so) functional operating life like fixed grip lifts typically have...

EVs - New Hampshire gets it right

My full sized GMC Acadia ICE weighs per a quick search roughly 4500lbs. My wife's Volvo XC90 Plug in gas/electric hybrid per a quick search weighs about 5300 lbs. The overall exterior dimensions of both of our vehicles are within a couple of inches of each other.

    VAIL SUCKS

April 14th. The price traditionally hasn't changed at the 1st deadline, but you don't get any buddy passes with your pass. Guess we'll see in a few days if that traditional scenario holds true again

    The Okemo mountain thread

Skied Okemo the last 2 days (the Sunny picture is Tuesday the 9th and the cloudy picture, Wednesday the 10th). Coverage on the 10ish distinct routes still open is generally good, with on most trails the hazards are well marked off with the orange "bamboo" - they're 100% plastic these days, are...
