    PSA, Hart clearance sale

I usually don't post on in this place anymore but I know there are some mogul skiers in this place. US Hart skis are selling dirt cheap, they have a couple of good deals left. BTW, don't get the BOSS, I heard the US version is low quality, the Japan version is a different story tho. It appears...

Pats Peak, The way it is series

I got hooked on Pats Peak in the last two seasons, most likely due to the triple fall lines and bump formation on Hurricane. They have a series on ytube, kind of cool if you want to peak into the way-back machine. btw, now I know who the owner and gm are and will thank them for keeping a bump...

    gas < $2/gal, rev 1.0

It appears the big server located in the sky deleted the gas price thread. i figure it might be worth while to restart it. Today, saw 1.99 at Hess Andover MA. A couple of days ago, 2.19 at the 93/89 NH rest stop.

    Gas.... < $2/gal

unbelievable. http://www.al.com/news/mobile/index.ssf/2014/12/its_not_a_rumor_gas_less_than.html It isn't that low around here but at least its making me less conscious of how far I go for a day trip.

    Crotched Opening Day

decided to hit the crotch for opening day, 11/28. About 1/3 the trails were open, rocket and valley lift running. Grooming if any was limited, some of the close trails had whales while others needed a base to cover some up the wet run off. Conditions was variable and fun. A couple of times, I...

    What's in your gear bag?

So on the topic of the cheesy title. Just wondering what if any unusual item they have in their gear bag. Not talking the typical extra goggle or face mask, but something not seen in the ski area or lodge. For me, I had the problem of cold fingers and toes. For the hands, I've been using...

    Summer Slopes

Just wondering if these guys are bummed out given the summer season will soon be over. Kidding aside, it appears they placed these surfaces over some trails, just wondering if this something a US resort area would consider.

    Summer Arctic Ice

I know some of has been following Bastardi during the winter for his storm forecast however I have been following his blog and other stuff.... Hybrid cars in ski area

I went thru the purchase of a used car scenario recently so I was noticing what was available in the used car market. Used hybrids are coming into my price range, just wondering if you or someone you know drives a hybrid during the winter to ski area and how they handle in the snow. What type...

American Meteorological Survey on Global Warming

Here's a 2013 survey conducted on the American Meteorological Society members. Interesting that of the respondents, 52% percent believe global warming is caused by man. Saw it on Forbes today, but the results were available last week, not surprise it hasn't made it to more media outlets...

Anybody skied with Marker bindings lately?

Just wondering if anybody skied with the Marker's bindings royal series. I (and prolly lots of folks) have associated their bindings with the novel pre release feature. This happened to me in the bumps a couple of times so I switched over to Look/Rossi bindings ever since. Seems the latest...

    Nashoba Valley vids

NV has been posting snow reports for the past couple of seasons, sometimes I check them out to see if the moguls have been formed instead of driving there myself. Over at there YT account, came across some vids of Pam Fletcher and Wayne Wong. The place has some cool history, imo. Circa late...

    PSA: K2 axis X 167cm

Ebay has one listed, new, still in its wrapper. A good price even if you take into account shipping cost. IIRC, this is a 7 -10 year design, which doesn't have the wide tips prevalent in current generation design. IMO a very good all mountain ski which works in the bumps and glades. Disclaimer...

    Nashoba Valley, 3-20

Heard that Nashoba was going to be open till Sunday, so I got a note from my doctor saying i'm sick. Everthing was groomed except for the moguls. I did not check the park tho. Lapped the moguls till I started getting sloppy and was falling all over the place. There's a trough burned to the...

    Crotched 3-1

Spent most of the day skiing Crotched, condition was hard snow in the morning but soften up as the temps warmed up. Spent most of the time lapping soltice glades and the bumps at jupitor storm. This trail had the soft and well form bumps after the mid week wet snow. Other bumps trails were...
