Why Does Berkshire East Use False Elevation Stats?

This has always perplexed me so I went poking around on Google Earth tonight to see what the actual elevation and vertical are. They claim their vertical is 1180'. In actuality the summit chair vertical is 920'. Maybe if you ski to the bottom of the carpet? No, that only adds 25 feet. Maybe if...

    Peeing while skiing

Oh yes I remember that one. I went down Green Beret about 15-20 mins after said event and thankfully didn't get stuck in any mud πŸ˜’

North Ridge Quad added to the menu for this weekend. Based on the webcam, they groomed Double Dipper which kind of sucks but it'll bump right back up anyway. Also heard that they groomed Ovation yesterday, which also kind of sucks but they also took the opportunity to fill in the return back to...

    VAIL SUCKS

There's almost no blowback to that announcement on Facebook. So the folks who care about their summer operations have either been sufficiently chased away by Vail, or maybe the coaster and zip lines weren't that good there? I've always heard about the legendary alpine slides there and...

I hate it. It's so sterile and bland. It gets insanely hot inside with any kind of sun. The astronomical prices for food are totally needless even by ski area standards. I used to actually like the old KBL. It was way too small for where it was, but it kind of felt homey in a weird way. I...

    2024- 2025 Gear

I mean I'm saving over $400 switching from regular Ikon to Epic Local for next year so I guess that would be a wise thing to spend the savings on. I work about 7 minutes from Strands and have been in there before once or twice. Has anyone here been to Strands for boots that has a good (or bad)...

    2024- 2025 Gear

I have flat feet too, so even more reason to follow through with custom footbeds. I'm sure a lot of the pain is due to me being an out of shape fatass but trying custom footbeds I hope will make a difference.

    2024- 2025 Gear

I did at first and then they were fine for a while. It's kind of gotten worse the last few years (probably because I've been skiing a lot less) but I also never go to Wachusett anymore and don't have a pass. Plus after 7 years not sure how much they could do.

    2024- 2025 Gear

As someone who rarely buys new equipment, I need some advice here from folks who do so more often... I think I need new boots before next year. I bought my current boots early in the 2017-18 season as my old boots (which were almost 15 years old) were starting to fall apart. My old boots NEVER...

Officially one more weekend of the Gondi! Looks a lot warmer and sunny this weekend so might have to back the trek.

    Jay Peak bombshell

There's a good barbeque joint in Portland...Wilson County Barbeque. But like your choices it has jack shit to do with Jay Peak. Since someone brought up Montgomery...Black Lantern Inn has a cozy little restaurant. The whole town actually kind of has a cool vibe.

I'm sore as hell today. Left ankle is killing me probably from slamming into a frozen mogul wrong. Right elbow is also in some pain, I think I slipped right as I did a pole plant and tweaked that. Damn you mother nature.

"All lifts except for the Superstar Express have been closed for the 2023/24 winter season, or at least for now." I predict that if the weather is decent next weekend that we will at least see the Gondola reopen and that Killington will act all heroic for doing it.

I wish I could've but I work on Saturdays (which is fine from a skiing standpoint, I'd rather be out there on a weekday than a Saturday). Today's recap... The okay: Needles Eye, Cascade, Header The bad: Superstar, Skyelark, Highline The ugly: East Fall, Ridge Run, Great Bear The very bottom...

I was very optimistic on the ride up as it was 50 and sunny as far north as Chester. Then the temp dropped like a rock and it's 35 and slate gray with flurries here. Groomers are sand on boilerplate. Afraid to even consider any nats. Not worth the drive whatsoever lol.
