Maine reimposes quarantine, COVID-19 test requirements on visitors from Massachusetts

Wow, that sucks. Rhode Island claims to be testing more than any New England state, not sure how it stacks up against NY though. I've been able to get tested twice for the purpose of travel, and they rush results when you state that travel is the reason for your test. Once back in July, and...

Maine reimposes quarantine, COVID-19 test requirements on visitors from Massachusetts

That article is inaccurate re. when you need to get a Covid test. The article at this link says "72 hours after arrival," but it's actually 72 hours prior to arrival, which of course makes more sense. Here's what the Maine.gov site says: Gov. Mills has issued a “Stay Safer at Home” Order for all...

Bretton Woods March 31 and Cannon April 1 2018

Yeah, probably. They're not running the Zephyr lift at all, which takes you up toward that side of the mountain. The snow was really good on the main trails over there, so it's not lack of snow!

Bretton Woods March 31 and Cannon April 1 2018

Things were really busy at BW on Saturday because they have $30 lift tickets for the rest of the season. But the lift lines were mysteriously short, the snow was soft, and the sun was shining. The tree skiing that's still open has spotty coverage, but they were running the T-bar and I rode that...

    photos!

I'm on a Dell notebook. I used that insert photo icon you have circled there. I ended up going back to my photo, saving it with a different orientation, then posting it again, that time it posted as it appeared on my screen. So I went back and re-saved it and posted it again, and like a previous...

    Stowe, 03-12-16 three word report

Agree with Steamboat1, it was very warm Sunday afternoon and the brown patches on National, Liftline, and over on West Slope on Spruce were growing. There were people skiing upper National yesterday, crazy buggers. The snow on the snowmaking trails has been getting better every day since Sunday...

    photos!

I was trying to post pictures and they all load sideways, although the orientation is correct when I view them on my screen. Is there a way to rotate images on the site after they're posted?

    Stowe, 03-12-16 three word report

Will do. We're bringing some friends who will be skiing mainly on Spruce so we'll be able to report on both sides!

    Stowe, 03-12-16 three word report

Thanks for posting this. We're heading up for the week on Saturday and it's nice to know there's still snow.

    Snowboarding in serious decline?

It's all demographics, I bet. The population of children in the U.S. increased a lot during the 1990's and very little during the 2000's (children are under 18 years old) and the entire increase in population of kids during the 2000's was among groups other than non-Hispanic whites. So, the...

    Bretton Woods 11/29

This was the best day-after-Thanksgiving skiing in years at Bretton. There were three lifts open (not including the beginner area) and the conditions were remarkably good given the rain on Wednesday. It got pretty icy by the end of the day but we haven't had more than two ways down at this time...

    Stowe 1-20 winds

Wow. I was there one day last week and almost got knocked over at the top of Gondolier by the winds, and all of the lifts were open. Crazy.

10 Best Ski Areas You've Never Skied

Pow Mow, Burke, A Basin. Pow Mow is probably the most unique place I've skied. There are buses that come and pick you up at designated spots, which you might have to walk or skate to after you've skied down. And it's in the middle of nowhere Utah.

    First Turns in Boston!

Double black is probably out of my league for now, I think I'll try Okemo instead.

Is that sidewalk a blue or black? Is it usually groomed? Any lodging nearby?
