Will Pico be crowded this Sat?

Subfreezing temperature following two warm days on this Sat means icy, scratchy surface at my home mountain, Gunstock. To salvage the day, I'm thinking of heading to a higher elevation and Pico came up. How is Pico on Saturdays crowds-wise?

Cheapest way to ski at Mt. Sunapee on a Saturday?

Ok, my only reference point is Gunstock 21/22, not Sunapee 22/23. Gunstock opened Stonebar, Lower Flintlock, and Phelps only last week. Upper Flintlock was still roped off last weekend. With what went on with the Gunstock management this past summer, I just assumed their operation had not fully...

Cheapest way to ski at Mt. Sunapee on a Saturday?

our criteria: location, vertical and skiable acreage. Distance-wise, Gunstock, Sunapee and Ragged are probably our outer limit. Waterville or Loon adds another 20 minutes, and it makes a difference on the way back behind the wheel when fatigue sets in. We ski mostly groomed blues and blacks.

Cheapest way to ski at Mt. Sunapee on a Saturday?

Thanks for sharing that info. There hasn't been a ton of snowmaking at Gunstock either this year. At least I don't think Gunstock is overcrowded.

Cheapest way to ski at Mt. Sunapee on a Saturday?

For next year, I'm thinking of buying an Epic pass, instead of Gunstock season pass. I like many things about Gunstock - beautiful lake views, bearable lift lines, drive, eating options in Tilton, etc. -, but we've skied there for too long. Is there a cheap way to check out Mt. Sunapee on a...

Looking for day trip destinations for novice tree skiing

When I joined this forum more than a decade ago, I was a new dad. Now, my baby girl has grown old enough to voluntarily try glades. Where can I find easy tree skiing that is also within 2-hour drive from Boston? I can’t think of anywhere other than Bretton Woods, but BW is kind of too far for...

Has anyone actually been able to ski to their parking lot at Waterville?

Thanks for the confirmation. Maybe I was looking at the wrong path. I'll give it another try on my next visit.

Has anyone actually been able to ski to their parking lot at Waterville?

The map at the parking at Waterville shows you a trail that you can go down on to reach any of their 9 parking lots. But when I tried to at the end of skiing the other day, the segment that started from the base didn't seem to have enough inclination to give you any momentum. I was parked in Lot...

    Discount coupons for Bretton Woods?

Are there discount coupons for Bretton Woods? I have a Feb vacation planned, and the ticket prices are higher than I remember. probably because BW offers no multi-day tickets this year. Any type of discount coupons will be really helpful.

Need recommendation for weekend day trips in the Berkshires

That was my initial preference, but I'd like to keep driving time under 1 hour. BEast is just over an hour. Again for kids' sakes.

Need recommendation for weekend day trips in the Berkshires

I’m spending this weekend near Lenox with a friend’s family. They put me in charge of entertaining the younger kids on the hills. Google maps show 4 possible destinations - Jiminy Peak, Bousquet, Ski Butternut and Catamount. The kids are all green skiers, with some better than others but no...

    Gunstock or Mt.Sunapee this Sunday?

I'm planning a day trip to either Gunstock or Mt.Sunapee this Sunday. Where can I expect less crowd? Will the Superbowl in the evening make a difference?

    Towns near Stratton or Mt.Snow

Yes, I’m beginning to realize that we won’t be saving much by moving to Mt. Snow or Stratton. Their online prices are a little lower than Okemo, but not by much.

    Towns near Stratton or Mt.Snow

My family is thinking about changing our home mountain from Okemo to either Stratton or Mt. Snow, due primarily to the high lift ticket price. Are there good-sized towns near either of them, with a supermarket, decent restaurants, shops, and what not? Ludlow is one of the reasons we keep...

What should you wear inside your ski jacket?

I didn't know your feet would feel so much better before starting to wear wool socks. By the same token, should you wear wool inside your ski jacket? All I have is cotton clothing, and I'm wondering if I will feel drier by wearing more breatheable clothing insde.
