I have one Burke Mountain promo voucher redeemable for one lift ticket this season. Valid anytime with no blackout dates. Will trade for something further south so I don't have to drive so far north. Thanks!

    Ski Apache, NM Trip Report

I am near El Paso, TX on a business trip and had today off so I went to the nearest ski place, Ski Apache which is owned/run by Apache tribe members I guess. The hotel clerk said it was okay skiing and suggested Angel Fire instead which is an extra 3 hours to drive. So I am driving up there...

Camping out at an LL Bean grand opening.

Since it was raining we decided not to camp but leave the house around 5 AM and we got there about 5:40. We were about 100th in line and drew the $25 gift cards. We stayed pretty dry under the store overhangs. There were several police cars patrolling and a security guard. There were also...

Camping out at an LL Bean grand opening.

Hahaha. Well I will let everyone know how it goes for future reference. The two of us will at least get paid $50 in gift cards for a little sleep deprivation. It is worth it to me and I will be hoping to draw the big gift cards.

Camping out at an LL Bean grand opening.

The new outdoor type mall is right off RT 1 and close to RT 128/95. I've never been to Dedham so I have no idea. I read on some other forums about Ikea and other store grand openings in which they let those waiting in line use the restroom in the store. And the last LL Bean opening in...

Camping out at an LL Bean grand opening.

Has anyone done this? I was thinking of camping out for the grand opening at the Dedham, MA store next week. They are giving out gift cards to the first 500. Is it safe to camp out and do they set up porta potties? I have never done this so hopefully someone has some tips for me. Thanks all!

    Friday weather

Rain in NE on Friday 3/6? Hi. I was planning to go skiing somewhere in New England on Friday but see rain in the forecast. Any chance it will be raining closer to sea level but snowing on the mountain? I am not sure how the weather works but hoping.

Chignecto Prov. Park or Fundy Nat'l Park

For Baxter, I was looking at the campgrounds just outside of the park and doing day hikes in the park. So I guess southern Maine and the coast are the more touristy areas?

Chignecto Prov. Park or Fundy Nat'l Park

We are planning some camping/hiking/backcountry this summer in July and will probably do around 5 days/4 nights. I'm trying to decide between Fundy National Park in New Brunswick or Chignecto Provincial Park in Nova Scotia. We have also been thinking about the mountains in Baxter State Park in...

Anybody have problems with toes freezing?

I have Thermic Footwarmers and love them. http://cozywinters.com/shop/th-1460l.html I bought the more expensive ones with the li-ion battery packs. I keep them in my work boots and will transfer to my ski boots when I ski. My toes are cold all the time. I either get chilblains, have...

    Saddleback February 9th, 2008

Thanks! I like seeing the side view pictures since it gives an idea of the steepness of the trails. I've never been but will be there for a week in March.

Help planning a trip up north.

Thanks for all the info. We just booked 5 days at a condo (South Branch) at Saddleback. It came out pretty cheap for the ski and stay. We got a full one bedroom condo with a fireplace! I'll be sure to post some reports and pictures when we are there.

Help planning a trip up north.

Has anyone stayed at the ski-in ski-out condos at Saddleback? I did some searching and I guess they are pretty new. Bretton Woods looks like it would be good for us but a bit pricey to stay slopeside.

Help planning a trip up north.

Nightlife isn't a big issue as long as there is a place to eat. An onsite gym/health room would be good but not a necessity. A hotel that is slopeside would be a plus as well.

Help planning a trip up north.

Hey, guys. I'm new to the forum and need help planning my first ski trip in a long time. There are 2 of us in our early 20s. We are driving from NE Mass and don't mind a long drive. We're deciding on staying somewhere for 3 to 5 nights during the week of March 9. I ski and she uses...
