After a great ski day at Killington on Friday we looked for an encore. Kaaterskill Falls is a short 1 mile hike right of 23A near Hunter. There is a lot of exposure if you want to be daring and every year several people are carted out of here. We had a group of 15. Only 4 of us went all the way to the top.
Kaaterskill Falls is the highest two-tiered waterfall in New York state. The water drops 260 feet in two stages. The first drop is 180 feet while the second is only 80 feet.
