Clipped a deer with my car on the way home last night...crossed right in front of the car, I slowed down but it didn't move out in time. Clipped it's leg and as far as I know the deer just ran/limped off.

All things considered we were very lucky but it's painful to see the damage to my 2.5 YO car.

That's no fun. Did you hit it with the Jeep? What kind of damage?

With the Volvo...put a nice dent in the front bumper cover and the hood doesn't look like it's aligned with the body anymore. Have a feeling there's a decent amount of hidden damage.

Never realize how big they are until one fills up the front of your windshield. :-o

My wife nailed a deer on a highway off ramp probably...... 5 yearsago ?? she was going pretty fast, completely creamed the thing. Her car was destroyed, but JUST shy of being totalled. More we were all happy she was OK as it was a big one and it went directly into the windshield.

Glad YOU are OK!

Cars are fixed and people have to heal. Be glad there's no healing involved and just a $2300 bill for your insurance + the deductible for you. These things are easily fixed and typically don't leave the car with the "its been hit before" mechanical gremlins. There is the Carfax issue though on the other hand.........

Bummer man! I almost nailed a deer last night about a mile from home. Sorry to hear that you got what I missed. Good luck with the repair.

I had a deer hit me last spring. He jumped right over a snowbank (I vaguely remember what those are....) into my right front quarter panel. I swerved so it missed the front though I still knocked him down. He scrambled about then ran off.

Glad u are OK, people are the main concern, cars can be fixed -- don't obsess over it .

Move on with your life and put this in your rearview mirror

Done...went skiing today. :daffy:

I know the outcome could have been a lot worse...so while it will be a PITA to get the car fixed I feel fortunate.
