    Mont Sutton 2.18.2012

    Date(s) Skied: 2.18.12

Resort or Ski Area: Mont Sutton

    Conditions: cloudy, 20's, hardpack

Trip Report: First time visit to Canada & Mont Sutton. Wasn't sure what to expect for crowds given it was a US holiday. Traffic drving in had been pretty light and dinner in Magog last night wasn't crowded.

Arrived around 10 to decent parking, got inside and booted up pretty quick, no big crowds at all. Skiing with the kids so we stuck to right side of the mountain, avoiding the prodominently black dimaond left side. conditions were firm, icy in spots but not horrible. They had more snow that SVT but not a whole lot more.

Sutton's rep was fun woods. i could see from the lifts that there were some tracks in the trees but places we checked were pretty sketchy. only a few inches of fresh snow (past 48 hours) on top of hard snow kept us on the groomers.

Rode the quad from the base a bunch, line was 10-15 minutes but moved. Old double chairs away from base were ski on but SLOOOOOOW.

Mountain had an old school vibe and lots of French being spoken.

Cool, I've never been north of the border to ski. I'll have to venture up there sometime. Sucks we need a passport now, thanks terrorists.
