Date(s) Hiked: Saturday March 17, 2012
Trails(s) Hiked:
JoMary Road
Total Distance:
~3miles hiked
Difficulty: No difficulty, snow covered main road.
Conditions:
1-5" snow: corn & slush, ~8"+ back in deeper brush/wooded areas
Special Required Equipment:
Hiking boots
Trip Report:

Took the JoMary Road at the JoMary gate...off of #11 that runs from Brownville Jct to Millinocket.
Drove in, parked at the end of safe travel...as the dirt roads are softening up with the snowmobilers
doing their weekly thing. Hiked in on main road for a few miles and up a side road near Cedar Mtn(1,962').
Variable snowcover off the road..some bare spots and ~12" for the south-facing terrain, a little
deeper for everything else, but is softening up considerably, even today....think by the end of the
coming week only the deeper undercover will remain.
*Nothing epic, we just had to get out today and getting in a little hike in the less than deep snow, with temps in the upper 40s, seemed just right.

**NOTE: This area is roughly 11mi due east, as the crow flies....from billski's 2011 trip to the First W.Branch Pond camps. (The JoMary Road runs from the NorthMaineWoods JoMary Gate(off #11) in the east...westward to the LilyBay Rd...that runs northward from Greenville)...if anyone should ever need this info...

A few pics...
