I am doing some end-of-season ski shopping and can use some advice. I have a pair of Hart Phoenix skis and Stockli VXL's. I am not getting out enough in the last few years to justify both and I want to add a wider pair. Sooo ... I need a single pair to replace these 2 and would love suggestions
Needs to handle East Coast (VT primarily, some mid-Atlantic) typical conditions (getting a wider pair for post-storm/soft conditions). I am just under 5' 10", 165 lbs. and advanced (low level 8 on PSIA scales) skier. I want something that is good for all-day resort skiing (including some forgiveness for end-of-day lazy errors), must handle hardpack/icy trails, but want to have something that does not punish in bumps and glades. I am not a big fan of overly damp skis. Current thoughts/possibilities include:
- Blizzard Magnum 7.6
- Head i.Peak 78 Pro
- Elan Amphibio Waveflex 12 or 14
Weather cancelled 4 trip attempts this year, so did not get to demo like I wanted to. Would love some suggestions. Thanks!
