The Carriage Roads in Acadia opened to bikes this week. The riding is very easy terrain as in very smooth trail although there is a few longer climbs depending on the route. Being early in the season there was hardly any other bikes, a handful of hikers and runners, and no horses as they are still off limits. The trails were dry without a drop of standing water. We started at the visitors center headed towards Parkman Mt Trailhead, headed around the north end of the around the mountain carriage road which carries you high on the shoulders of Sargent and Parkman Mtns. with great views, which brings you near the high ground between Sargent Mtn and the Bubbles, a quick descent to Jordan Pond House, cross the road head towards Bubbles Pond and along shore of Eagle Lake. 26+ miles on a gorgeous warm day.
