Rope Tow Trivia

The bang board was at the top of that 3100 ft rope tow and was used as a safety.If a skier got caught up in the tow they would bang up against the board setting off the switch and stopping the lift.

Also it should be noted that the tow and first slopes were not located on the current ski area's side of the mtn (N,) but on the western slope. Gunstock and the immediate surrounding area has an interesting ski history, indeed.

It was metal pipes that grabbed onto the rope. Not be confused with the Bosquet Tow Gripper.

Any pics? I was referring to the Bosquet Tow Gripper I guess. I spend quite a bit of time there, and have several friends who are members at the Greylock Ski Club, that uses the Tow Gripper.
