Killington is the answer for your needs.

Unfortunately, because you're travel dates extend into the Christmas Holiday period, expect to pay a premium. If you can have your trip start earlier and end on Xmas eve or day, the rates you get might be more favorable.

Killington sux, don't bother. Don't matter if it's Christmas or any other time, always crowded, always expensive.

Thanks for the advice guys, we looking into moving things forward a bit but hopefully the saving we get on the ski side is greater than the prices we pay to be in NYC from Xmas into the new year. But I do see that peak starts on the 23rd so may be better to get in the The week before, just hope the snow cracks down.

This advice goes a long way.

The week before Xmas or the week after New Year's are often uncrowded and certainly less expensive.

And I can only add to the chorus that Killington is the place for you.

Plenty of party options along the access road devoid of crowds. That's part of the beauty of Killington, options.

Speaking of options, despite what I've already posted, I think our SA friends would get a much better feel for New England skiing at Stowe. If your only going to do it once go to the best.

Pro's are:
- Loads of people so the vibe will be great at nights for apres.
- A little bit later may mean better snow, as appose to the week before, as it is not easy to plan short term from SA. :O

Con's are:
- Busy queues'.
- Busy ski schools for the beginners.
- More expensive everything.

Haha, more options aren't always great i think i've just got to choose one and go for it. Killington just seems to have it all, even if we have to fight crowds a little. Most of the guys have never skied before so they have nothing to compare it with, which helps.

Just going through all the options makes me want to live close to slopes to do this at least once a year.

Just want to say a big thanks once again to everyone who gave out advice on my topic. Its just over a month away and seems Killington has had their first snowfall, as well as having a great pre-season opening thanks to their snow making efforts. All accommodation, passes and gear organised, just have to hold thumbs for good snow, get ready for the cold and hope Killington's vibe is good while we are there (and a couple of really hot American woman wouldn't hurt). So amped to hit the slopes again.
