Xanadu actually is a combination of two words. The Mayan word Zana, meaning ending soon and the Chineese word Du, meaning 2012.

    108 ft.

"From the American Dream Meadowlands website:
Ski Dome Projected attendance: 1.6 million visitors annually

That's more than 4,000 skiers a day on one lift that's 718 feet long with 108 feet of vertical. Good luck with that!

For comparison, Vail has about 1.6 million visits a year too!"

That is more than double of areas I've been too as a kid in Montreal (see post above). Unfortunately these ski areas are now lost.

Here are the smallest and still active ski areas in Quebec (approx. double in vertical from the ones I've skied on as a kid):

Groupe plein air Terrebonne (Montreal suburb) - 30m / 98ft

Centre de plein air Levis (Quebec City surburb) - 30m / 98ft
    own i Ski Val d'Or (town in northern Quebec) - 32m / 105ft
