FSA K-Force Light Crankset For BB30 With Ceramic Bearings
The theory behind BB30 makes a lot of sense to us. You get a stiffer bottom bracket spindle, weight savings, and a reduction in crankarm width for a increased ankle/heel clearance. The K-Force Light platform is FSA's top component tier, and now they're offering a BB30 version of the crankset, available to fit any BB30-specific bike. It's 30 grams lighter than the SL-K BB30 crank and it includes ultra-smooth ceramic bearings rather than the steel bearings found on the SL-K.
Among the benefits of BB30 is the larger and therefore stiffer, 30mm spindle. It is made with 7075 alloy and is co-molded into the 5-arm spider on the drive side arm. Both standard and compact versions of this crank are available. The bolt circles are 130mm and 110mm respectively. Though more difficult to produce , T-30 Torx internal wrenching alloy fasteners are used for the chainrings bolts to ensure strip-free, proper torquing of the hardware. A tight fit and snug fasteners means less power-robbing flex and decreased chance for strange creaking noises to develop.
The FSA K-Force Light BB30 Crankset is a top choice whether you're interested in a standard 53/39 or compact 50/34 chainring configuration. It has a 3K carbon weave finish on the hollow crankarms and it has black anodized chainrings. The bold graphics visually tie together the hollow carbon fiber crankarms and the CNC machined 7075 aluminum chainrings. It's compatible with all 10-speed road shifting systems. We also sell FSA produced Campy 11-speed compatible chainrings which can be fitted to this crankset. Three crank arm lengths are available -- 170, 172.5, and 175mm. Claimed weights are 610 grams for the standard and 553 grams for the compact version.
